On Friday May 29th there will not be a daily video or any well-being chats as all staff will be in school, preparing for a hopeful return to school on June 1st.

We have had so much wonderful learning shared from home that we have now created a 'Sharing Our Learning' gallery on the main page so we can keep on adding more!
These are some ideas for learning at home today. A reminder that you don't have to do all (or any) of these today. Maintaining a routine and a connection with school are the most important things!
This week in Foundation Stage we are going to Play...

Parents
Once children are engaged in play that is following their interests, we can start to bring in other learning from our curriculum, including writing and maths skills. You might remember during the Little Storytellers when Ms Becky showed how you can bring in maths skills when planning for the performance: number, money, time. If writing and maths are brought into children’s play in a meaningful way - i.e. that it fits with their play - then they will be motivated to learn the skills to achieve what they want to do. For example, when a child is passionate about aeroplanes and has created an airport with aeroplanes, landing strip, waiting room and so on, they will be more motivated to write the labels to communicate their ideas, or to draw the departure board with destinations and departure times. Watch our team explain how to effectively bring maths and writing into your child’s play, where suitable.

We love seeing what you’re playing at home! I wonder what you will do today? I wonder what toys and tools you will use, I wonder what ideas you will explore, I wonder if your play will have a story today? Maybe you’ll be inspired by our book If You Find A Rock - what will your rock become?

Breathing Buddies
Have your child lay down on their back and put a cuddly toy on their belly. Have them breathe in and move the stuffed animal up, then breathe out and bring the stuffed animal back down. This helps teach kids to use their belly to take big deep breaths.
