Well-being

Getting changed after PE

Y5 & 6 students can use the changing rooms to get changed into their school uniforms after PE.

On days that your child has PE, please send your child into school in their PE kit, packing a full school uniform (including plain black shoes) so that they can change into it after their PE lesson.

* For Teeball days, students should wear shoes or trainers and bring boots into school, changing into these just before the lesson.

Watches

We encourage children to wear a basic and robust watch to school, with the emphasis on telling the time and developing independence.

Most smartwatches allow for phone and message contact, unsupervised access to the internet, and GPS tracking. Whilst these features are potentially useful in other locations, they are not needed within school.

A much cheaper analogue watch, which helps children develop an understanding of time, is our preferred choice.

If your child does have a smart watch, please set some clear guidelines with your child about which functions can and cannot be used in school.

ATK testing

Remember to submit your child's ATK testing before 5pm on Sunday.

Learning

Readers'Cup - How many have you read already?

Home Learning and Class Blogs - there is no home learning over the holidays

Remember that your child's home learning has been shared via their class blog.

Global Citizenship

Chinese New Year

Unfortunately, we are unable to share a Primary School celebration this year. However, children are invited to celebrate by wearing traditional clothes, (or red and/or gold colours) that celebrate this important day within our community.

Events In The World

If you would like your child to be aware of world news and events but find it too overwhelming, have a look at Newsround for a more age-appropriate version of current events.

You can also access First News and The Week along with a wide selection of other magazines in our Primary Library. Being aware of current events will help your child to make connections with a range of themes when reading in class.

Birthdays

We are a NUT FREE school. Please when ordering birthday treats double check before bringing treats on the campus. Many toppings offered by some donut shops have flaked almonds in their toppings and peanut butter fillings.

  • Individual treats can be brought into school with your child in the morning.
  • Please agree a time with the teacher in advance.
  • Children will be expected to eat any birthday treats in their classroom.
  • Unfortunately, parents can not join in the celebrations.
  • Your child's class teacher will however share a photograph with you.
