Well-being

The Jubilee

Next week, on Thursday 2nd June, in honor of the Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee and to celebrate her being on the throne for 70 years.

Students will have a non-uniform day. They can come to school wearing red, white, and blue clothes to celebrate.

Busking Day

Mosquito protection

With the rainy season comes an unwelcome increase in the mosquito population.

Our Buildings and Grounds team continue to spray buildings and outside areas.

Relationship and Sex Education

This week, we looked at how we can make healthy choices that support our mental health. Students have chosen some activities that they can practise and some activities that they should avoid. For example, increasing exercise is good for mental health whereas too much screen time is not good for mental health.

On the 2nd June, students will learn about the changes that the opposite sex go through during puberty.

New school shoes for the new school year

Please add plain black school shoes to your August shopping list.

Shoes should be durable and support the whole foot.

Plain black shoes can be sourced in many shops and department stores in Bangkok.

If your child has to wear other shoes for a specific reason, please let the teacher know.

Students should wear different footwear during PE lessons.

Learning

Laptops for learning - It is a good idea to do this before the summer holiday.

Click here to find out more about the specifications. Please contact class teachers if you have any questions.

Climbing and OAA = Patana PE kit, sunhat and water bottle required.

Home Learning and Class Blogs

Here is the link to the Year 5 blogs.

Please encourage your child to complete their home learning. Each week, Mathletics tasks are set. These consolidate the week's learning. There is also a Literacy of Connected Learning task based on the learning.

This is posted on your child's class blog.

Global Citizenship

Events In The World

You can keep up to date with current events around the world by watching Newsround, an age appropriate news show.  Being aware of current events will help your child to make connections with a range of themes when reading in class, and it is an ideal opportunity for you to model discussing your opinions and using experiences to draw connections between events and people.

Birthdays

We are a NUT FREE school. Please when ordering birthday treats double check before bringing treats on the campus. Many toppings offered by some donut shops have flaked almonds in their toppings and peanut butter fillings.

  • Individual treats can be brought into school with your child in the morning.
  • Please agree a time with the teacher in advance.
  • Children will be expected to eat any birthday treats in their classroom.
  • Unfortunately, parents can not join in the celebrations.
  • Your child's class teacher will however share a photograph with you.
