Well Being

End of day timings from Monday 14th September

From Monday 14th September, departure times from year groups will revert back to 2:30 for all students.

If you are collecting a child at the end of the school day, please note that departure times for different year groups will no longer be staggered.

All Primary students going home by private transport will still exit between the Arts Centre and the FS Building.

Y3 Teachers will continue to walk their classes down to meet their parent/carer.

Musician of the Month

Every month Primary Music features a Musician of the Month during lessons. We include a diverse range of performers, arrangers and composers.

This month we are celebrating the music of Celia Cruz and our video of the week is one of Celia’s most famous salsa songs:

La Vida Es Un Carnaval - Life is a party

Getting involved in a club - Netball

Connecting with other students and being part of a team is so important for our well-being. You may never have considered Netball as a sport, but it fast and fun. Check out the poster below for more information.

Learning

Home Learning and Class Blogs

Remember that your child's home learning has been shared via their class blog.

Here is the link directly to the Year 5 blogs.

PSHE - Celebrating students who include other during learning and play

This week we have introduced our new PSHE celebration. Students have thought about how they can include others during class time, play time and lunch time.

We shared a wonderful story called the Invisible Boy, and we discovered who the hero of the story was.

We want our students to be heroes and be mindful that some children may sometimes feel like the boy in the story and it is our job to ensure that we try to include others during learning and play.

Reading Journals

We are very happy to see that our Year 5 students are engaging with their Reading Journals. Each week, we give students an opportunity to sit and discuss their reading habits with a friend. We also encourage them to discuss their reading habits with their families as well.

Birthdays

Happy Birthday to the following students who are celebrating their birthday this week:

Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, we are asking students NOT to bring in any cakes from home to share with members of the class. We will however sing Happy Birthday at some point throughout the day.
