ECA Information

Friday 31st March 2023 Block C ECA programme finishes.

Please remember that all children should know how they are getting home and where they are meeting parents or drivers. If you are running late to collect your child, please do let us know.

PE and getting changed

All students can now come to school in their PE kit on Monday and Friday, but they MUST bring their uniform to get changed into afterwards.

Learning

PSHE

This week during PSHE, we have been learning about the importance of protecting our personal information online and how to evaluate online profiles and the importance of having a positive online identity.

We will also look at how some people can mask their identity online for good reasons and for bad reasons, and why it is important to only interact with people that they have met in person.

PE  - Year 5 curriculum

Year 5 Interclass Teeball Event

This will take place at the Sports Complex on Monday 13th March between 8:00am and 10.00am.

If the pollution levels are high, we will switch location to the Primary field next to the hardcourt and rotate students inside and outside to limit time outside.

Please ensure that all students have Patana PE kit, (with class coloured T-Shirt ) a sunhat and Football boots for this lesson.

Parents are more than welcome to attend. We look forward to seeing you!

Class Blogs and home learning

Here is the link to the Year 5 blogs. You will find an overview of your child's learning along with their home learning tasks and any important messages from your child's class teacher.

Please check your child's class blog weekly to stay informed about their learning.

Please encourage your child to complete their home learning.

Global Citizenship

Events In The World

You can keep up to date with current events around the world by watching Newsround, an age appropriate news show.  Being aware of current events will help your child to make connections with a range of themes when reading in class, and it is an ideal opportunity for you to model discussing your opinions and using experiences to draw connections between events and people.

Birthdays

We are a NUT FREE school. Please when ordering birthday treats double check before bringing treats on the campus. Many toppings offered by some donut shops have flaked almonds in their toppings and peanut butter fillings.

  • Individual treats can be brought into school with your child in the morning.
  • Please agree a time with the teacher in advance.
  • Children will be expected to eat any birthday treats outside of classrooms.
  • Parents can join in the celebrations.
