A Note from the Principal

29 November 2024

What a marvellous few weeks it has been, with the last of our Y4 - Y6 students returning safely—and very happily—from their Residentials! We were fortunate to enjoy fantastic weather, confirming that the decision to move the dates from February to November was indeed a wise one.

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the Ploenchit Fair—a fantastic community event! Another highlight was welcoming guest speaker Mark Grist to our KS2 assembly. Mark, a former English teacher turned poet, rapper, and author, captivated the students with some incredible performances. We are hoping he will inspire some great writing in the Primary school!

Well Being

Please - no Christmas Gifts for classmates!

Our children are already very excited about Christmas and the holiday season.

There will be a number of exciting events over the next two weeks.

Please note, we do not allow party bags or other gifts to be given out at school, either for birthdays, or other celebrations.

This includes giving out Christmas gifts to the class, such as small toys and candy-canes.

Our students benefit from a calm start to the day, and giving out presents can be disruptive.

Many Primary Students bring in a gift box for other children in Thailand.

This is part of their year group charity work and has our full support.

Christmas Concert - Save the Date!

Charity Christmas shoe box gifts

Thank you to the ten children who bought in gifts this week. The Christmas tree is up and there is plenty more room for other boxes! We would appreciate it if students could bring in shoeboxes by Monday. As always, thank you for supporting our charities.

Learning In Year 4

For more information about the Learning in Year 4, please visit our Year 4 Curriculum Page.

PE

Children should come to school in their PE kits on the days that they have PE lessons.

When your child has swimming lessons, they should come to school with the swim kit on and their uniform on - NOT their PE kit.

All students are expected to get changed into their school uniform after a PE lesson.

PE KIT:

Swimming lessons require black or Patana swim kit, swim hat, goggles and towel. Long sleeved rash vest / suit optional.

Athletics Normal PE kit, hat and water bottle.

Remember that students are expected to wear a different pair of shoes for school and for PE lessons.

As a reminder, if your child is unable to participate in a swimming lesson due to illness or other reasons, please contact the PE teacher directly, rather than the class teacher or Year Group Leaders.

General information

Birthdays

Parents should not bring in class gifts, balloons, bubbles, whistles, games, drinks etc. Your child's class teacher will politely ask you to take these home with you. We enjoy celebrating birthdays by sharing a birthday treat such as donuts or cakes.

We are a NUT FREE school. Please when ordering birthday treats double check before bringing treats on the campus.

Many toppings offered by some donut shops have flaked almonds in their toppings and peanut butter fillings. If you bring these in, unfortunately, we will have to send them home

Birthday Treats

  • Children may bring in a special treat to share with the class.
  • Please contact the class teacher to arrange a suitable time. In Year 4, you can do this on Monday or Wednesday as we have Spelling lessons on other days.
  • Brownies, cupcakes, small donuts, and cake slices are easier for your child to give out.
  • We do not give out drinks (e.g., bubble tea, sodas)
  • Please reduce plastic packaging.
  • We do not allow party bags or other gifts to be given out at school, either for birthdays, or other celebrations.

The following Year 4 children have celebrated their birthdays this week:

We wish you a very happy birthday!
