A note from the Principal

Note from the Principal

23-05-25

We had a lot of very excited – and understandably rather tired – Year 2 friends returning home today after completing their magical sleepover experience. For many, it was their very first night away from home with school friends, and they embraced the adventure with courage, joy, and a real sense of independence. A huge thank you to all the staff involved for creating such a memorable and meaningful experience for our youngest campers.

Elsewhere across the Primary School, we also wrapped up our final Year Group Sports Festivals. These celebrations of physical activity and teamwork brought fantastic energy to the campus. A big thank you to our PE team for their enthusiasm, organisation, and care in making these events such a success.

This weekend, I have the great privilege of attending my own son’s graduation ceremony — a proud moment that reminds me just how quickly the school years fly by.

Wishing all of our families a restful weekend ahead.

Sarah McCormack

We are engaged in our learning

Well Being

RSE Learning - Single Sex lesson

This week, we explore emotions and feeling during puberty.  We explored what this might look like and the fact that it might be different for everyone, but the good news is, they are many different strategies that children can use to manage these changes. We linked this learning to our previous learning on emotional literacy and the zones of regulation. This learning will be followed up on next year in Year 5.

Hoodies or cardigans

Students should wear a school issued blue cardigan if they are feeling cold in class. Please encourage them to tell the teacher if they are cold.

Class blogs

Each week, we publish class blogs. The purpose of these is to give you an insight into your child's learning and what is happening in Year 4. Please visit the class blog and discuss your child's learning with them.

Net based striking and OAA (Outdoor Adventure Activities) both require normal PE kit including water bottle and hat. Remember to bring a change of footwear as feet will get sweaty!

Please contact PE staff directly if your child can not take part in a PE lesson.

Birthdays

Parents should not bring in class gifts, balloons, bubbles, whistles, games, drinks etc. Your child's class teacher will politely ask you to take these home with you. We enjoy celebrating birthdays by sharing a birthday treat such as donuts or cakes.

We are a NUT FREE school. Please when ordering birthday treats double check before bringing treats on the campus.

Many toppings offered by some donut shops have flaked almonds in their toppings and peanut butter fillings. If you bring these in, unfortunately, we will have to send them home

Birthday Treats

  • Children may bring in a special treat to share with the class.
  • Please contact the class teacher to arrange a suitable time. In Year 4, you can do this on Monday or Wednesday as we have Spelling lessons on other days.
  • Brownies, cupcakes, small donuts, and cake slices are easier for your child to give out.
  • We do not give out drinks (e.g., bubble tea, sodas)
  • Please reduce plastic packaging.
  • We do not allow party bags or other gifts to be given out at school, either for birthdays, or other celebrations.

The following students celebrated their birthdays this week:

Minami

Mita

Nella

Luke

Chloe

Bodhi
