Learning

Term 1

Please visit our Curriculum Pages for more information about learning in Year 4 this term.

Please visit our Class Blogs to find out about the learning in our classrooms this week.

KS2 Residentials 2022

All parents in Years 3-6 will soon receive a letter giving details of the 2022 Residential Programme.

We are currently optimistic that all Primary Residentials will go ahead in Term 2 and therefore our normal planning and preparation is ongoing.

A further letter will be sent out in Term 2 which will include more detailed logistics and our COVID measures when taking students out of school.

Parents will also receive a hard-copy Residential Permission Form early next week.

Please complete this as soon as possible and return to the class teacher.

Global Citizenship

Christmas Shoe box Appeal

This year, we welcome donations to fill our Christmas Shoeboxes. These will be given to the 270 children from the Lua hill tribe in Nan province.

Please bring in a shoebox with the following items:

Toothpaste / toothbrush/ face towel / soap / body wash/ comb / hairbrush / hair ties/ colouring pencils / notepad and a toy. We would like to add a specific toy to each shoebox. To ensure we have the relevant gifts for the children. May we ask the following classes to add the extra item below?

4R.   gifts/toys suitable for boys below 4 years.

4W. gift/toy suitable for girls below 4 years.

4F and 4A gift/toy suitable for boys 4 - 8 years

4D and 4H gift/toy suitable for girls 4 - 8 years

4T. gift/toy suitable for boys and girls 8 - 12 years

Thank you so much for all your support.

Well-being

If your child is starting ECAs next week, you are welcome to send in an extra snack for them to enjoy between or after their ECA to keep their energy levels high, as days become longer for them.

End of day arrangements from the 22nd of November

Primary Students using the bus

Foundation Stage and KS1 students are taken to meet their bus monitors by a member of staff.

KS2 students walk to the bus park independently.

Once the bus has arrived at the drop off, students in Years 4-6 can make their own way to their home.

Students in FS, Y1, Y2 and Y3 must be collected from the bus by a parent or other authorised adult unless they have traveled home with a Secondary aged sibling.

If the person meeting the child from the bus is not the parent or legal guardian, they must show the Bus Monitor their Patana ID card or Bus Drop-Off ID Card before the duty of care is passed from the Bus Monitor to the collecting adult.

If there is no trusted adult waiting at the drop-off to collect the child, and the parent/carer cannot be contacted, the child will be taken back to school to await collection.

If a Primary student in any year group is dropped off at another location (not the family home), they must be collected from the bus by a parent or other authorised adult.

No primary student should be passed into the care of security, reception, or an external coach/tutor.

Primary students going home by private vehicle

Foundation Stage and Y1-Y3 students are collected direct from a member of staff by a parent or other authorised adult.

Y4-6 students may walk to the car park or meet their trusted adult at an agreed location.

Primary students being picked up late

FS – Y3 students are brought to the Primary Office to wait for their parent or other authorised adult.

Y4 – Y6 students may use the Primary Library until 3:30 and then wait in the Primary Office or main Reception.

Students should not wait elsewhere as there is no supervision available.

COVID 19 Community Response Plan

Please carefully read the document below that details all of the COVID protocols. A reminder to test your child and submit your child's ATK results before Sunday at 5pm.

CSL

The current Hybrid CSL model will continue until the end of Term 1. At the moment, we wish to support our students’ learning the best we can, but we are moving to a CSL model for the following situations:

  1. The student’s class/year group is closed for 3 days because of a Covid+ case/s.
  2. The student is in 14-day isolation because they are Covid+ or a high-risk contact
  3. The student has been overseas since the beginning of the academic year (August 2021) and is not able to return before 10th January 2022.

The situations in which we will not provide Hybrid CSL for are:

  1. The student is on holiday or visiting family, including leaving school mid-term to travel.
  2. The student is generally unwell. This includes symptomatic Covid+ cases. Once the student is well again, CSL will be provided for the remainder of their isolation period.
  3. If a student is identified as low risk or no risk.

Other circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
