Well-being
ECAs start
On Monday ECAs start and the children are very excited about them! On Monday and during the week the teachers will spend time showing the children where different ECAs take place. We will also have staff on hand at the end of the day to ensure they get to the right places. Please see the presentation below to ensure you know where to pick up your child from their ECA.
If you have any changes to your child's usual schedule please speak to them about this and email your class teacher. Many thanks!
Roald Dahl Day
This year, Roald Dahl day will take place on Friday 11th September. It is a day where we celebrate our learning theme for Term 1a ‘The Wonderful World of Roald Dahl’. On Friday the children can dress up as their favourite Roald Dahl character and will spend the day participating in a variety of activities linked to his books and his life.
Glass jars needed
For this celebration day, one
of our creative activities will be making dream jars. If you have a jar/s at
home, please send in would you send in any empty and washed out jars with lids
and these will be washed out and used on the day.
We understand that this year it will be a slightly different experience as we navigate our covid restrictions, we have adapted where necessary but we do want to keep this day of celebration and learning for our students. Rest assured we take lots of photographs throughout the day so the students can share them with you at home using our class blogs.
Thank you so much for your support with this and I hope the children are looking forward to this day as much as we are.
Snack cards on Monday!
The time has finally come for our students to get their long
awaited snack cards! They are extremely excited and have enjoyed visiting the
snack bar this week to learn how to check their balance, top up and pay for
chosen items. In Maths, we have been using the snack bar menus to practice
finding totals and looking at smart ways to manage a budget.
On Monday morning, teachers will take the children to the snack bar before the start of break time, to ensure they all top up their cards and that they are comfortable in their knowledge of how to access the snack bar independently.
Here is some guidance regarding the use of the snack bar;
- The children’s snack cards will be given to the pupils on Monday by their teachers.
- The snack cards will be kept in the children’s classrooms at all times, except during break time when they are to be used.
- The limit for topping up the snack card is set at 500baht. *We advise for the first week to begin by giving your child 100 baht so we can ensure children are not buying beyond their budgets or large amounts.
- Children can bring in to keep their own lanyard card holders in, the Tiger school shop does sell them as they are very useful in keeping their cards with them during playtime.
If you prefer you can send your child in with a healthy snack to have at playtime instead of using the snack card.
We provide plain or soymilk for every student each break time. Students may bring their own water bottle to school.
Learning
Science
Next week we will be attempting to take our Science Learning to the Outdoor Classroom. Weather permitting! This is a unique opportunity for the students to learn about plants and the natural world. Your class teacher will contact you by email to let you know the day for your class.

Music
Musician of the Month
Every month Primary Music features a Musician of the Month during lessons. We include a diverse range of performers, arrangers and composers.
This month we are celebrating the music of Celia Cruz.
Celia was born in Cuba in 1925 and moved to the US during the Cuban revolution. She became associated with ‘Salsa’ a Cuban dance music that became popular in the 1960s with her rhythmic singing and rich voice.
This week we are featuring Guantanamero - perhaps Cuba’s most famous song:
Global Citizenship
Please ensure your child has a water bottle with them at school everyday. This small steps enables us to not use lots of paper cups everyday! Thank you!

School shoes
Students wear black shoes that support the whole foot and allow them to be active. School shoes require at least a thick strap to keep the shoe firmly in place. Children can wear lace-ups if they can tie up their laces independently.
