Living our school values:

We are collaborative and confident communicators

A note from the Principal

This week, we have thoroughly enjoyed the Y3 – Y6 Sports Days. Our students did themselves and their classes proud as they took part in a number of events and races. With team spirit and laughter in plentiful supply, it was excellent fun and really rewarding. Thank you to all the Parents who could join us and to the PE team for their wonderful organisation.

On Saturday, our community is extremely excited to host the Ploenchit Fair. As I was new to Patana last year, this will be the first time that I have taken part in this and I am really looking forward to it! I will be helping at the Patana train from 11.30am – 1pm and I hope to see lots of your there! Do pop by to say hello!

Proud of you Patana!

Learning

Green Spaces

Our current theme for learning is 'Green Spaces', inspired by the book 'The Secret Sky Garden'

Please visit the Y2 Curriculum page to find out more.

Our students are growing seeds in school in the hope that they can create a green space on the roof of the year 2 building. If you have any seeds at home we would love to use them to see what plants we could nurture and grow.

If you do please send them to class with the students!

PE and ECA kit

On PE days our students can come to school wearing their PE kit so we save time changing for the lessons.

On swimming days students should wear school uniform and bring their swimming kit in their bag.

If your child requires kit for an ECA after school please send them in their regular school uniform and we will provide time for them to change before they join their ECA.

Music Blog

Visit the recently updated Primary Music Blog for lots of information connected to your child’s learning including musician of the month, resources connected to areas of the curriculum, ECA materials, and information about upcoming events.

School Shoes

This a reminder that students should wear comfortable black shoes that cover their feet and toes. Black shoes with white soles are also ok.

There are a number of shoes now available from different brands that come in all black.

Thank you for your support with this.

Christmas Shoe Box Appeal - PLEASE START SENDING TO SCHOOL

Each year, at this time, Year 2 parents and children have put together a Christmas Shoebox which contains a selection of small gifts for the children at our charity, Children of the Forest. I am very pleased to inform you that we will be putting shoeboxes together again this Christmas.

Children of the Forest is a registered charity close to the Thai-Myanmar border, that supports stateless and homeless children with education, healthcare, and welfare. Your kindness and support will make a big difference in improving the life chances of these children. The shoeboxes help to bring huge joy to children who would otherwise not receive a gift.

We are hoping that you would be kind enough to put together a shoebox, with the following contents.

- Toothbrush and toothpaste

- Soap and shampoo

- Face cloth

- Coloured pencils or crayons

- Colouring book(s) or sketchbook(s)

- Candy packets or sweets (No Chocolate)

- Small toy suitable for either a boy or girl.

Please ensure all items are new and clean.

Please do not seal or wrap the box as children will make wrapping paper and a card to go inside.

Please try to involve your child in the process by selecting or purchasing the gifts.

Please send your shoebox into school by Friday 9th December.

Supporting our IB Learners - Business

As part of Matt's Business IA, he has been working closely with Craig White and the school shop to see how he can support the school in improving its stock holdings. Part of the Business IA requires Primary data to be gathered to ascertain the clients’ views and needs.

Dear parents,

As part of my IB Business project, I am reviewing and supporting the school in identifying how we can best promote and improve our school shop. I would greatly appreciate your support by asking you to complete this short survey with your invaluable feedback.

Thank you in advance for your support with this.

Birthday celebrations

We cannot give out party bags or gifts - please keep these for any sort of celebration that you do out of school.

If you would like to send in some birthday treats for your child to share with their class, please arrange a day with your child's class teacher. We will only be able to manage individual items like brownies, doughnuts or cupcakes. Please remember we are a nut-free Primary School.

The following students are celebrating this week.
