A note from Mrs McCormack (Primary Principal):
Working in a school is truly a rewarding and unpredictable experience and this week has been filled with delightful moments and unexpected encounters!
Firstly, I had the pleasure of meeting our visiting author Mr. Matt Dickinson who climbed Everest. Then, I was called in by Year 2 students to assist in rescuing a toad from a pond, who sat with me for some time whilst he got warm. I counted to 100 with a student in Nursery, proving that learning knows no bounds. During lunchtime, I had the joy of hearing about the fascinating tales of two Year 5 students and their multiple pets. Lastly, I had the privilege of guiding Year 6 students in writing their own captivating stories based on a short film. Each of these encounters has reminded me of the immense joy and fulfillment that comes from working in a school environment, where every day brings new and wonderful surprises.
On Tuesday, another positive highlight was meeting our parents for an end-of-year celebration and reflecting on all that we have achieved this year. Thank you for attending! If you have not yet had the opportunity, please do complete our short end-of-year parent survey. The deadline is on Monday, 5 June.
We hope you have a fantastic long weekend!

Year 2 Sleepover - 15th of June 2023
Soon, it will be the Year 2 Sleepover. For many of our Y2 children, this will be one of the most enjoyable highlights of their year and this will be the first sleepover since 2019. The sleepover provides an opportunity for your child to spend a night away from home, within a safe and familiar environment, surrounded by friends and teachers.
This is an opportunity for each child to demonstrate independence and so we ask that Year 2 becomes a parent-free zone after school on Thursday.
Please say your goodbyes on Thursday morning and reunite with your child on Friday morning.
You can follow their overnight adventures via the class blogs.

Children are invited to wear safe and sensible non-uniform to help celebrate this day.
As in previous years, children are invited to bring in 5฿ and 10฿ coins which they can give to their favourite performers to encourage and celebrate their efforts.
Please remember to send in money on this day.
General Information
Influenza
We currently have a few cases of Influenza in Primary. Influenza is much more serious than a cold and can result in serious complications such as pneumonia.
When unsure, always seek medical advice, especially if your child has another chronic condition such as asthma.
Even very fit and healthy children can easily catch the flu.
Clusters of children from the same class or friendship group may quickly display similar symptoms.
The virus is commonly spread through droplets in the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
The virus can survive on hands and on objects that have been in contact with an infected person’s mouth or nose. Please make sure that everyone in your family washes and dries their hands regularly and thoroughly. These preventative measures will help to stop infection spreading within your family.
If your child is coughing or sneezing, please keep them at home and limit their contact with others.
Colds and influenza are most contagious during the first 48 hours.
A child who has a fever should remain at home until they are “fever free” for a minimum of 24 hours.
Children who have been infected with Influenza should be kept at home until completely recovered.
Once the main symptoms have gone, children may still need several days until they return to full strength. Please do not send your child back to school too soon, even if they are no longer contagious.
If Influenza is confirmed, please scan and send the medical certificate to your child’s class teacher and Cc Nurse Joe (Kiera) kiau@patana.ac.th.
School shoes for August
Primary students are expected to wear plain black shoes to school.
Most of our students will have bigger feet by August, so please add these items to your shopping list for the holidays.
Farewell Mr Mills!
Term 3 Lost Property
Birthday celebrations
We cannot give out party bags or gifts - please keep these for any sort of celebration that you do out of school.
If you would like to send in some birthday treats for your child to share with their class, please arrange a day with your child's class teacher. We will only be able to manage individual items like brownies, doughnuts, or cupcakes.
Please remember we are a nut-free Primary School and also check with the class teacher for any other dietary requirements of the class.
These children are celebrating their birthdays this week...
