Primary Performance Weeks
The Primary Music Department are very excited to announce the first ever “Primary Performance Weeks” will be happening from 6th-16th October. Anyone who is learning a musical instrument will be able to sign up to perform in the new shared performance space in front of a small audience. The event will happen during the normally timetabled music lesson and children can sign up with their music teacher in the next couple of weeks.
This is a wonderful opportunity for children to share their talents, build confidence and perform in front of a small, supportive audience. Although we are not able to welcome parents to these events at this time, we will be recording performances and will be able to share these with you.
Should you have any questions regarding this event, please contact Mr Charlie chmc@patana.ac.th
Happy Birthday to:
Mabel (6D) Evie Grace (6F) Lucilla & Katja (6J) Tomi (6P) Astra (6S)
We are now pleased to announce that students celebrating birthdays may bring in donuts or cupcakes to share with their class. Please do not send in candles or cakes that need to be cut and remember, NO NUTS!
Learning
PE
Please note the Y6 student PE blocks will change starting next week, Monday 12th October:
However, all students are reminded to bring in their swim kits next Friday 16th October for the Y6 swim gala. Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions parents are unable to join this event.
Global Citizenship
This week, we had a visit from Mr Brian Taylor. He reminded us of the importance of one of our Patana Values - being a 'respectful contributor to digital and local communities'. A key message was that we should all be using social media and our communication platforms responsibly.
This includes the following:
- not sharing our passwords or allowing other people to use our accounts to send messages to other people
- reporting things that make us feel uncomfortable to a trusted adult
- not using MS Teams late at night
- changing settings to 'do not disturb'
- being aware that we can see all activity that takes place online on MS Teams
- if you have nothing good to say, better to say nothing at all
We ask that our parent body support us by talking to your children about being a respectful contributor.
Current affairs
If you would like your child to be aware of world news and events but find it too overwhelming, have a look at Newsround for a more age appropriate version of current events.

General Information
School Shoes
As part of their Patana school uniform, our students wear plain black shoes with no coloured trim.
If your child is still coming to school in coloured trainers, please purchase plain black school shoes over the half term break.
Shoes should support healthy foot growth.
All shoes require at least a strap to keep the shoe firmly in place. No ballet pumps.
Children can wear lace-ups if they can tie up their laces independently.
Plain black school shoes can be sourced in many shops and department stores.
If your child has to wear other shoes for a specific reason, please let us know.
These photographs are all examples of suitable plain black shoes.
