Primary Performance Week

The Primary Music Department are very excited to announce the first ever “Primary Performance Week” will be happening from 6th-16th October. Anyone who is learning a musical instrument will be able to sign up to perform in the new shared performance space in front of a small audience. The event will happen during the normally timetabled music lesson and children can sign up with their music teacher in the next couple of weeks.

This is a wonderful opportunity for children to share their talents, build confidence and perform in front of a small, supportive audience. Although we are not able to welcome parents to these events at this time, we will be recording performances and will be able to share these with you.

Should you have any questions regarding this event, please contact Mr Charlie chmc@patana.ac.th

Musician of the Month

Every month Primary Music features a Musician of the Month during lessons. We include a diverse range of performers, arrangers and composers.

This month we are celebrating the music of Celia Cruz and our video of the week is one of Celia’s most famous salsa songs:

La Vida Es Un Carnaval - Life is a party

Happy Birthday to:

Leeya (6D)      Kieran (6E)     Arnob (6P)   Bradley (6T)  Remy (6E)

We are now pleased to announce that students celebrating birthdays may bring in donuts or cupcakes to share with their class. Please do not send in candles or cakes that need to be cut and remember, NO NUTS!

Learning

Please visit our class blogs to find out more about the learning that has been happening in your child's class.

Basketball Tournament - Assessment for Learning

All Year 6 students will be taking part in a 'basketball assessment for learning' tournament on Monday. Please remind your child that there is no swimming for any Year 6 student on Monday during their PE session. Students should bring their PE kits in on Monday - they are welcome to wear their team colour, if they chose. If not, we have coloured bibs that they can wear as an alternative.

As part of our Covid response, we are not inviting parents in to school for any PE lessons and inter-class matches. We are very appreciative that our Patana parents understand and continue to support these measures.

Global Citizenship

If you would like your child to be aware of world news and events but find it too overwhelming, have a look at Newsround for a more age appropriate version of current events.
