A Note from the Principal
A Note from the Principal
21 February 2025
We have all enjoyed our first week back, and it was great to see our students return from their mid-terms full of energy and enthusiasm. This morning, I was welcomed by over 140 little Pirates, all beaming with excitement as they enjoyed their special day in Year 2! I also took a moment to soak in the warmth of the Foundation Stage setting—it was such a joy to see the wealth of toys and resources sparking curiosity, parents and children cozied up for a story, teachers greeting families with genuine warmth, a fresh lavender bush beginning to bloom in the garden, and children working together to build a river in the sandpit. It was a beautiful reminder of the care, connection, and creativity that fill our school every day.

Primary school timings – start of day
Start of day timings
For families who arrive by car, getting departure and arrival times right can be difficult. You don’t want to arrive to early, but you also don’t want to be stuck in the LaSalle traffic. The occasional late arrival is well understood - and sometimes unavoidable. However, the class teacher will be in contact if there is a persistent pattern of lateness.
Primary school timings – start of day
- Staff on duty from 7 a.m.
- Students enter classrooms at 7:30.
- Timetabled learning begins at 7:40.
If a child arrives rushed, and perhaps stressed about missing a lesson, this is not the best start to their day. Those first ten minutes, from 7:30 – 7:40, are an important part of the school day. Established start-of-day routines give children time to settle and switch into learner mode. We want all of our children to know about the importance of punctuality, and not only in their school setting.
