Can I show my understanding of a text?

Learning Task: To read through the text about the heart and then choose which activity you would like to do.

Resources: Laptop, Reading materials

Time frame: 1 lesson (40 minutes)

How will I share my learning? Either on paper, or in your Reading document in your Google Drive Shared folder

Task:

1. Choose your challenge level and read the text about blood:

2. Choose which activity you would like to do:

  • Create your own glossary for the text you have read, choosing 5-8 key words and writing out their definitions
  • Draw the different types of blood cells and label them
  • Turn a blood cell into a cartoon character and draw what it would like, adding labels to describe it, e.g. name, personality, likes, dislikes
  • Imagine the blood cells can talk, create a play-script showing the conversation they may have
  • Choose one of the types of blood cell and write out a short job description for it 
  • Create a quiz based on the text, with at least 8 questions

Can I draw an abstract heart?

Learning Task: Draw an abstract heart, using your knowledge of the shape of the heart.

Resources: A4/3 paper (or your sketchbook), pencil and eraser

How will I share my learning? When you have finished your drawing, place it in your ‘Connected Learning Slides.
