Lesson 1: Literacy (8-8:40am)
You will start to work with your group in tomorrow's Literacy lesson.
Can I assess my writing?
Learning Task: You will watch Miss Miranda model using the success criteria to assess an introduction. You will assess your own introduction and improve it.

Time Frame: 40 minutes.
Task:
- Watch the pre-recorded lesson.
Create a new slide in your Google Literacy book.
Write the date and the learning intention.
Copy your introduction from yesterday’s lesson onto the slide.
Copy the two sets of success criteria onto the same slide.
Assess your writing against each of the success criteria.
Pink the success criteria you have achieved.
Green the ones that you have not achieved.
Duplicate the slide.
Write ‘edited version’.

Enter your Maths class's section.
Be in your Maths class's section by 8:55am.
Wait for your teacher to start the lesson. Please DO NOT start this yourself.

Lesson 3: Reading (10-10:40am)
Can I show my understanding of a text?
Learning Task: To read through the text about the heart and then choose which activity you would like to do.
Resources: Laptop, Reading materials
Time frame: 1 lesson (40 minutes)
How will I share my learning? Either on paper, or in your Reading document in your Google Drive Shared folder
Task:
1. Using the same texts from our Reading lesson on Tuesday, skim through the text again or choose a different challenge level:
2. Choose a different activity to do today:
- Create your own glossary for the text you have read, choosing 5-8 key words and writing out their definitions
- Draw the different types of blood cells and label them
- Turn a blood cell into a cartoon character and draw what it would like, adding labels to describe it, e.g. name, personality, likes, dislikes
- Imagine the blood cells can talk, create a play-script showing the conversation they may have
- Choose one of the types of blood cell and write out a short job description for it
- Create a quiz based on the text, with at least 8 questions
- Create a 'Wanted' poster about one of the cell bloods, explaining why it is wanted for arrest
- Write a short story about one of the blood cells and the adventure it might go on
- Create a comic strip based on the day in the life of a blood cell - you can use this template here

Can I understand how stress affects me?
Learning Task: You will review the term ‘stress’ and ‘mental health’ and learn how these are related. You will meet with your well-being groups for this group activity. Your teacher may visit your well-being groups to support you with this activity.

How will you share your learning: in your Google PSHE virtual book
Time Frame: 40 minutes
Task:
Facilitators will initiate a call with their well-being group in MS Teams chat at 13:05.
Facilitators will open the lesson presentation, make a copy and share it with their group.
Facilitators will share their screen.
Facilitators will assign the following roles: readers, recorders and discussion director.
Facilitators will take the group through the presentation.
Discussion directors will lead the conversation.
Readers will read the information.
Recorders will highlight information.
Facilitators will click on the learning resource, make a copy of it and save it in their class’s PSHE shared folder.
Next week in Science, you have the opportunity to make your own 'blood'. For this activity you will need:
- Red and yellow food colouring
- 2 cups Cheerios cereal
- 20 mini marshmallows
- 6 small pieces pieces of cotton wool
- 1 small empty water bottle (500ml)
If you cannot get all of these items, do not worry. They all represent parts of your blood; so you can improvise!
