Living our values: We are  creative, confident communicators

26 April 2024

A note from the Principal Dear Parents, Welcome back. It has been such a joy seeing our students happy to return and eager for the remaining 9 weeks of the academic year.

It has certainly been a busy start to term, and I want to extend a big thank you to Ms. Jayne and the PE team for kicking off Sports Week, and to Mr Glenn and Mr. Max for putting together an exciting E-Sports showcase. Meanwhile, Year 6 are gearing up for Madagascar the musical, and we would be delighted if you could join us for one of the performances on May 8th or 10th. On other news, on Monday we had a most unusual visitor to one of our Foundation Stage classrooms – a green tree snake! He was captured overnight and returned to the wild. His visit certainly provoked a lot of interest from our youngest students!

Well-Being

Same time - new location!

Please note, although parents are still welcome to spectate our sports days, we kindly request that all parents remain in the viewing gallery adjacent to the climbing wall. This measure ensures that we can optimise the space available and maintain safety. There may be instances during the event when you may not have a clear view of your child, particularly if their activity is located on court 3.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience these adjustments may cause and express our gratitude in advance for your understanding and support. Thank you for helping us to prioritise the health and safety of our students and staff during this time of high heat.

Learning

RSE

This week, we started our Relationship and Sex Education lessons. We started by introducing the Question Box. Year 5 students are familiar with the Question Box as they were introduced to it in Year 4.

Each week, we will post information about the RSE lessons here. If you have any questions, please do reach out to your child's class teacher.

FOBISIA Poetry Competition - There is still time!

PSHE

We have been learning about keeping ourselves safe online. Students have been reminded that they should never share personal information with anyone online. We spoke about having an avatar rather than adding images of themselves as profile pictures.

PE lessons

All students MUST bring their school uniform to change into after the lesson.

Any questions please do not hesitate to contact the PE Team - jaju@patana.ac.th.

Class Blogs and home learning

Here is the link to the Year 5 blogs. You will find an overview of your child's learning along with their home learning tasks and any important messages from your child's class teacher.
Please check your child's class blog weekly to stay informed about their learning.
Please encourage your child to complete their home learning.

Birthdays

We are a NUT FREE school. Please when ordering birthday treats double check before bringing treats on the campus. Many toppings offered by some donut shops have flaked almonds in their toppings and peanut butter fillings.

  • Individual treats can be brought into school with your child in the morning.
  • Please agree a time with the teacher in advance.
  • Children will be expected to eat any birthday treats outside of classrooms.
  • Parents can join in the celebrations.
