A note from the Principal
This week, I have been touched by how much
warmth and love there is in our school community.
Standing watching our Year 3 students depart for their Residential, and the
fond exchanges between parent and child never fails to touch my heart and makes
me appreciate how lucky we are to be a part of these journeys.
On Thursday, I was dashing off to Secondary and I bumped into our Year 1
students, hand in hand with their new friends from our Charity school who had
come to join us for a morning of learning. All children full of smiles and joy at
the new friendships and connection.
It is moments like these that truly highlight the greatness of our school – it is the people who make it special. And there is nowhere else I would rather be!

Well-Being
Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease – Preventative Measures
HFMD is a viral infection which spreads via direct contact, particularly of body fluids caused by coughing and sneezing.
Symptoms of HFMD may include fever for 2/3 days, sore throat, runny nose, rash (palms of hands, soles of feet, buttocks, mouth), poor appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy.
Because of the prevalence of HFMD in Thailand, we are required to report all cases to the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority.
The school response (children kept at home for seven days + rigorous cleaning of buildings and equipment) helps avert closures.
Rigorous and frequent handwashing is also an important preventative measure.
If you notice such symptoms, please contact Nurse Joe and a member of her team will check all children in the class.
If your child with symptoms, and there are other siblings in school, please share this information with Nurse Joe.
Khun Joe can be contacted at kiau@patana.ac.th

Learning
PSHE learning - Becoming more assertive
This week in PSHE, we have been learning about different communication styles: passive, aggressive and assertive. Our focus was on recognising these styles using familiar contexts that your child comes across in school. Please discuss the importance of being assertive and expressing your needs. You can model this at home using 'I" statements. "I don't want to play tag right now. I would prefer to play basketball.' Encouraging your child to express their needs will reduce conflict and improve their self-esteem.
Year 5 Poetry Competition
We are preparing for our poetry competition. Your child should start to think about what they will wear for the big performance on Wednesday 3rd April. They can start to bring their clothes in. They will bring these home before the holiday.
Thank you again for your support
