Learning

Reading In Year 5

It has been wonderful to see so many students using their Reading Journals to share their reading with their peers and teachers.

Teachers love to see their students reading at home

A reminder that the minimum requirement is that students record the title of the book they are reading, and the dates when they read. Please encourage them to read every day for pleasure.

Sports Day - Monday 25th November

On Monday Year 5 take to the track and field for their annual Sports Day!

Start Time: 07:40

End Time: 12: 10

Year 5 will be on the track first and we would love to see parents their to cheer the children along.

Students should bring hats, water bottles, their class colour, PE kit and sun cream.

Please make sure students apply sun cream at home before they get to school and ask them to reapply regularly throughout the morning.

Home Learning

Now that the students are settled in Year 5, they will be set 2 home learning tasks each week.

We recommend they spend 30 minutes on each task.

This half term, one task will have a spelling focus and the other will be Maths, Literacy or Connected Learning. As always, we encourage children to read for at least 15 minutes every day.
