Year 4 Newsletter 8.12.23

A note from the Principal

What a delight it was to witness the enchanting performances of our Y1 & Y2 choir on Thursday and the dazzling Y6 Oscars ceremony this morning. Celebrating the boundless passions and creativity of our students always brings a smile.

As we approach the end of term, our festive spirit is soaring high! Brace yourselves for a busy week filled with merriment. On Wednesday, be sure to logon to Firefly to check your child's shining Mid-Term report. Our staff is gearing up for a jolly good time at the staff party on Tuesday, followed by the magical Christmas concert on Wednesday, the heartwarming FS2 Singalong on Thursday, and the festive grand finale with the Christmas Assembly on Friday.

We can hardly wait to discover how Santa will make his grand entrance this year! For all the important details and timings, please do remember to check ISAMS. Wishing you a holly, jolly week ahead ✨

Student Council

We would like to say a very big thank you to everyone for donating a shoe box filled with much needed hygiene products and toys for the children we are supporting at the Mercy Centre in Khlong Toei.

Today, the student council spent some time wrapping the presents and preparing them as they will be given to the children at their Christmas Party this weekend.

Gift giving

Giving gifts to friends and family is a lovely thing.

However, we do not expect or encourage gifts from a family to the whole class.

Please do not bring in gifts, sweets, candy canes or toys for the class.

Edible gifts can cause problems for some families, and we do not allow sweets/candy in school.

Many of our students give gifts to families and children in need through our year group charities, and this we completely support

Preventing the spread of influenza (newsletters November 23)

We currently have a number of children absent with influenza.

Influenza is a serious and contagious infection that affects the nose, throat, and respiratory system.

The virus is commonly spread through droplets in the air, allowing infection to spread quickly.

Children with cold or flu (influenza) symptoms should be kept at home until they are completely recovered.

Even when the main symptoms have gone, your child may still need time to return to full strength.

Please do not send your child back to school too soon, even if they are no longer in the contagious phase.

If your child is still coughing or sneezing, please keep them at home and limit their contact with other children.

A child who has a fever should be kept at home until ‘fever free’ for a minimum of 24 hours.

When unsure, always seek medical advice, especially if a child has a chronic condition e.g., asthma.

If Influenza is confirmed, please send a copy of the medical certificate to Nurse@patana.ac.th

· How to respond to unkind behaviours within a friendship group.

· How to help and support children to resolve friendship problems.

· Knowing when to step in, and when to step back.
