A note from the Principal

A Note from the Principal

21 February 2025

We have all enjoyed our first week back, and it was great to see our students return from their mid-terms full of energy and enthusiasm. This morning, I was welcomed by over 140 little Pirates, all beaming with excitement as they enjoyed their special day in Year 2!

I also took a moment to soak in the warmth of the Foundation Stage setting—it was such a joy to see the wealth of toys and resources sparking curiosity; parents and children cozied up for a story; teachers greeting families with genuine warmth; a fresh lavender bush beginning to bloom in the garden; and children working together to build a river in the sandpit.

It was a beautiful reminder of the care, connection and creativity that fill our school every day.

Snacks

Students know that sweets, chocolate, nuts or any other candy is not allowed in school for snacks. We also ask that parents send in smaller bags of chips and snacks. A reminder that students are not allowed to share snacks.

Please scroll down to remind yourself of the expectations for bringing in birthday treats. We have had some pizza and bubble tea recently. We ask that all parents follow the expectations below. Thank you for your support.

Birthdays

Parents should not bring in class gifts, balloons, bubbles, whistles, games, drinks etc. Your child's class teacher will politely ask you to take these home with you. We enjoy celebrating birthdays by sharing a birthday treat such as donuts or cakes.

We are a NUT FREE school. Please when ordering birthday treats double check before bringing treats on the campus.

Many toppings offered by some donut shops have flaked almonds in their toppings and peanut butter fillings. If you bring these in, unfortunately, we will have to send them home

Birthday Treats

  • Children may bring in a special treat to share with the class.
  • Please contact the class teacher to arrange a suitable time. In Year 4, you can do this on Monday or Wednesday as we have Spelling lessons on other days.
  • Brownies, cupcakes, small donuts, and cake slices are easier for your child to give out.
  • We do not give out drinks (e.g., bubble tea, sodas)
  • Please reduce plastic packaging.
  • We do not allow party bags or other gifts to be given out at school, either for birthdays, or other celebrations.

The following students celebrated their birthdays this week:

Daichi

Louis

Jeb

Elliot

Evie

Kaew

Kazuma
