We are kind, compassionate, and respectful.
The Year 4 team would like to say a big thank you to those of you who sent in donations for our charities this term. If you have not yet donated a shoe box full of goodies, you are not too late. We are happy to receive donations next week.
On Friday morning, Year 10 students visited Year 4 and supported our students in wrapping shoe boxes full of treats and gifts for the children at the Mercy Centre. The boxes will be delivered to the Mercy Centre in time for Christmas.
The towels and goggles donated will be kept at school ready for when the children visit and enjoy a swim in our wonderful pools.
A note from the principal
This week, we enjoyed two special events. On Wednesday, we joined 32 members of our choir at the British Club for an evening of carols. It was the most magical night under the stars and made us reflect on how fortunate we are to be part of such a diverse community and in such a special place, Thailand! On Thursday, Y5 did themselves and their teachers extremely proud with their bring, buy and bake sale. A huge amount of creativity and hard work went into this – well done to all.
Next week, is the end of our busy term. We are all looking forward to a week of festivities, including the Primary staff party, the Christmas concert, and the Christmas assembly. Our paperless reports will be published on Friday and this document provides a snapshot of your child’s progress and attainment thus far. We are currently undertaking a review of our assessment and reporting practices, as we look to make them more relevant and meaningful.
This will be my last note of the year and so I would like to take this heartfelt opportunity to wish you all a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Thank you parents for all your ongoing support, open dialogue, and commitment.
Proud of you Patana! See you in 2023!

General information
Gift Giving
Giving gifts to friends and family is a lovely thing.
However, we do not expect or encourage gifts from a family to the whole class.
Edible gifts can cause problems for some families, and we do not allow sweets/candy in school.
Many of our students are giving gifts to families and children in need -and this we completely support.

PE- Term 2
Here is the timetable for PE in Year 4, Term 2.
Please note that the start of term will be Try a New Sport for the first 2 weeks, before moving to new activities on the dates below.
For Try a new Sport, all students will require Patana PE kit, a sunhat and water bottle. There will be a water based option, so please bring swim kit as well if students think they may like to choose the water option.
Important reminder! All students will be learning Teeball in Term 2. Football boots are required for this unit.
As Year 4 PE lessons are before break time, the children can arrive at school in their PE kits (or swimming kits underneath their PE kits). They will then need to change into their uniforms at the end of the PE lesson.
Athletics lessons require Patana PE kit, hat, water bottle and PE shoes.
Swimming lessons require black or Patana swim kit, swim hat, goggles and towel. Long sleeved rash vest / suit optional.
