A note from Mrs McCormack (Primary Principal):

Dear Parents,

This week, I am thrilled to share our exceptional Y5 & Y6 ISA assessment results.

This year’s results show a significant difference in the performance of Patana Primary students, compared with ‘regional’ and ‘all schools’ groups. Both Reading and Mathematics for Year 5 are +36 and +35 points, respectively, when compared with the regional group. For Year 6 Reading the difference is +72 and for Mathematics +61.

These results are exceptional, particularly in Reading and Year 6 Mathematics. It is key to note that the Year 6 Mathematics results are our highest ever.

On Saturday, I look forward to joining the Graduation Ceremony for our Year 13 students. Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead.

Sarah McCormack

RSE Curriculum

This week the students will learn about how they can keep them self safe in different environments and situations.

We discuss the difference between safe and unsafe physical contact, consent and what to do when things make you feel uncomfortable.

Year 2 Sleepover

It’s now less than one week until our sleepover!

Here is a reminder of the packing list for next week:

✔ Sleeping bag or sheet/duvet plus a small pillow.

✔ Pyjamas / Sleepwear.

✔ Toothbrush & toothpaste in a zip-loc bag.

✔ Change of clothes for the evening (not school uniform).

✔ Change of clothes for the morning (not school uniform).

✔ Trainers for evening play activities (not flip flops or Crocs).

✔ Torch/flashlight for our evening torch walk.

✔ Reading book / Favourite Story.

✔ Cuddly bedtime teddy.

❌ No electronic devices and smartwatches are allowed as per school policy.

❌ Please do not pack snacks for your child - food is provided.

If you would like your child to take a shower before bed, please provide a towel. Children will be given the opportunity to shower in the individual showers at the swimming pool. Soap is provided.

Although there are quite a few things to remember on our packing list, please try to pack lightly as the students will need to be responsible for their own belongings. Please write names on any items where you can, so that we can make sure they do not get lost.

Please do reach out to the class teachers if you any further questions about this exciting event.

Performance Week

Our second Performance Week of the year is fast approaching, in the week 27th May-31st May.

Performance Week is an opportunity for any child who is learning a musical instrument to perform in front of a small audience during their regular timetabled music lesson. Children can sign up to perform during their music lessons and it is an internal event with no spectators. We encourage all students who learn a musical instrument to participate.

Please support your child to perform if they take lessons on an instrument and please help them to bring their music/instrument on the right day:

Any questions can be directed to the music teachers:
