We have found Dylan!

Today we received a letter giving us a clue to where we might find Dylan. We started off by visiting the school canteen and then followed a huge trail of clues around school until finally we found Dylan with his friends in the Thai Sala! Dylan was having a picnic with Snappy, Stripey and Tiny ! We were so pleased to have Dylan back in class. he was given a big bowl of water and the children made him a beautiful heart shaped card. We missed Dylan a lot and are so pleased he is back in 1L!

1L Dylan the Dog is Missing!

1L were very upset to find their much loved class pet Dylan the Dog had gone missing this morning. We decided as a class to go out and about around the school and have  look for him. We asked lots of other children and teachers in Year 1if they had seen Dylan but sadly nobody had seen him. When we returned to the classroom we decided it would be a great idea to make some posters including a picture of Dylan and where to return the lost dog to. The children in 1L made some very colourful posters which we then put up around the school.

A busy week in 1L

IL have had a really busy week. The first excitement was the opening of the Year 1 and 2 playground which provided endless fun . The children have enjoyed being back on the monkey bars, singing and making up shows on our outdoor stage and playing with the sand and water again.

The children have met all of their specialist teachers now and have had their first swimming lesson, library session , music lesson and ICT lesson which they were all very excited about.

The children have all settled in really well and are enjoying making healthy choices at the canteen when choosing their lunch. We have done some counting and ordering of numbers this week and have written some postcards too. finally the children were so proud to take home their first reading books for this year and keen to read which is wonderful to see!

A wonderful first day 1L

1L had a wonderful first day at school. The children enjoyed seeing their old friends after a long summer holiday and were happy to welcome our new friends  Pat, Nuri and Amelie to the class. We had lots of fun looking around our beautiful new class room and year group, discovering all the new learning areas we will be able to use. Later  the children enjoyed a delicious lunch and had fun painting pictures about their holidays and building all kinds of models with our construction toys. We enjoyed lots of great stories and the class were fantastic at listening and keen to hear many more stories. All the children had a fantastic first day in 1L.
