This week Year 1 children were invited to the Secondary school to watch the Key Stage Three Drama students perform three of Grimms famous fairy tales. The children were very excited to be at a real drama production and it was good that we recognised a few of the older students.
The children watched three fairy tales:
- The Musicians of Bremen
- Beauty and The Beast
- Hansel and Gretel
The children loved all the excitement of the animals in the Musicians of Bremen and were on the edge of their seats watching the beast trying to court Beauty. Everyone felt very sad for poor Hansel and Gretel abandoned in the forest
It was a wonderful morning of entertainment and the children were full of ideas about the performances when we talked about it later in class.
This was a great way to finish all the drama we have done in class this term related to fairy tales.
