A Message from Ken Cronin
PTG Events Coordinator & Newcomers Representative
What a fantastic way to kick off the new academic year!
The PTG Newcomers and Parents Welcome Picnic was more than just an event; it was a true celebration of our Bangkok Patana community. Held out on the front hardcourt, the morning was filled with laughter, conversation, and a genuine sense of connection as new and returning families came together in such a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
From the moment our guests arrived, the sense of hospitality was clear. Delicious food, barista coffee, homemade drinks, and even freshly baked bread and hummus, generously contributed by one of our new parents, made everyone feel at home. Children and adults alike got involved in the fun, thanks to engaging activities led by our fantastic Student Sports Council, our PTG Little Squad along with the wonderful team from Ying Fencing Club, who kindly shared their energy and expertise throughout the morning.
And of course, no picnic would be complete without a bit of fun; popcorn, candy floss, ice cream, and a buzzing sticker booth added a playful energy that really brought the event to life.
A particular highlight for me was the opportunity to officially welcome our new families, alongside the introduction of our PTG Volunteers, an inspiring group of volunteers who give so much of their time to create opportunities like this one, helping to build a sense of belonging and community here at school.
We were also incredibly grateful to our community partners — the Samutprakarn International Ladies Club, Home of Grace Community Store, and Bumrungrad Hospital for supporting the event and giving families the chance to engage with meaningful causes and local support networks that extend far beyond the school gates.
With the support of our volunteers, community friends, and of course the ever-popular PTG Tiger Cart, this picnic was a perfect reminder of what makes Bangkok Patana such a special place, a community built on connection, generosity, and shared values.
Thank you to everyone who made the morning such a success. It was a brilliant start to the year ahead!
