Nursery Continuing Learning Page Tuesday 31st March

Welcome to the Nursery learning page. Don't forget to register each morning on the opening page.

Good Morning!

We love to see what you are learning at home!

Thank you for sharing your special moments at home. Here are some of them...

Can you find pictures of your friends?

These are some ideas for learning at home today. Parents please remember that there is no expectation to complete all of these! Keeping a routine for your child and maintaining contact with school are the most important thing.

Wake Up Song

"Action songs not only develop language as children learn the words but also support the development of your child's gross motor skills such as balance, strength and coordination. "

Top Tip - Expand to full screen on all video links to get the best view!

You can display this page onto your television too to get an even better view!

Today's story time is..

Today's story time is Oliver’s fruit salad. Oliver is choosing lovely fresh fruits from the shops and comparing them to the ones his Grandpa grows in his garden. Oliver enjoys chopping fruits to make fruit salad. I wonder who ate the fruit salad?

Communication and Language

“We are looking for children who listen, attend and can recall details from things they have heard. Nursery children love hearing stories, we give them the signal that storytime is about to start, we sit comfortably and ensure that we are ready. We use the pictures to offer clues and to create interest, we point to unusual words and use our voices in different ways."

Due to potential copyright issues, please do not download or share this story - thank you.

Snack Time

For snack time today you could help to chop fruit like in the story to make a fruit salad or fruity ice lollies or a smoothie. Remember, to wash your hands first, using soap and drying your hands thoroughly after. Ensure your child uses a child proof knife for chopping.

The boys are enjoying bananas. I love the way they peeled the skin using their fingers. Can you think of any other fruit that you peel?

We would love you to upload an ILD observation of your child chopping fruit!

Rhyme

Miss Rachel and Miss Sarah know a song about chopping! Why don't you try chopping your fruit whilst saying the rhyme!

Physical development - “it is important for our children to begin to recognise the way their own body feels. We want them to understand and recognise feelings of an empty stomach, a dry mouth or a sweaty forehead. Then they can tell us that they feel hungry, thirsty or hot. Staying safe and keeping healthy is our priority”

We would love you to upload an ILD observation of your child talking about what they have made and how they have made it.

Lunch Time

Great using the spoon to serve yourself, I wonder if you can help serve others at your table too? You can use the words…’would you like some more?’

Have a lovely lunch FSN. Remember to help tidy up after.

Today’s song time is….

Nap Time!

If you usually have a nap after lunch, have a lovely sleep!

This is the music that we use in the sleep room everyday to help to settle the children to sleep:
