These are some ideas for learning at home today. Parents please remember that there is no expectation to complete all of these! Keeping a routine for your child and maintaining contact with school are the most important thing.

“Today's story is about using our imagination to bring awe and wonder into our lives. Sophie enjoys a tea party with a very unusual and hungry visitor. We can encourage children to use their imagination by asking them which animal they would like to share food and drink with?”

Snack Time -
Make sure you wash your hands before eating your snack. Experts say washing your hands properly must last for 20 seconds. Sing ‘Happy Birthday’ twice whilst you’re washing your hands, when you’ve finished singing it’s time to dry your hands.
Role Play
Role play links to so many areas of learning!
“Today you could make your own shop by getting some food and other items out of the cupboard. Together, you and your child can price each item using paper tags (numbers to 5). You can take it in turns to buy items from the shop, model writing a receipt for the items, make your own paper coins and notes, or pay with real money.
We would love you to upload an ILD observation of your child in role play. This could include asking questions or even show us some of their price tags with symbols for numbers eg: 3 ***
Physical Development and Early Mathematics
“Price tags - Any marks that your child makes are meaningful. We want the children to be able to explain their symbols to you. It doesn’t matter if the numbers are not recognisable as we are in the early stages of representing numbers. It could be dots, circles, lines, pictures or any marks that your child has used to represent numbers.”
