Good Morning!
These are some ideas for learning at home today. Parents please remember that there is no expectation to complete all of these! Keeping a routine for your child and maintaining contact with school are the most important thing.
Wake Up Song
"Action songs not only develop language as children learn the words but also support the development of your child's gross motor skills such as balance, strength and coordination. "
Sleeping Bunnies
"Here is another rhyming song which we know your children love! A great example of how early reading skills (awareness of rhyme) and physical development can be combined into one song!"

Today's story time is..
Owl Babies. Read by Miss Carol and Miss Kat
"Today's story is all about feeling 'worried'. This book is great for helping children to understand that sometimes our parents can't always be with us. It reassures them that Mummies and Daddies will come back! We often use this book to help children to separate from parents when coming to school."
Communication and Language...
Some questions you could ask to prompt your child to talk about the story with you
Where do you think Mummy has gone?
Why do you think the Mummy owl has left her baby owls?
How to the owls feel? (at different points in the story).
How does Sarah feel? How does Percy feel? How does Bill feel?
Due to potential copyright issues, please do not download or share this story - thank you.
Snack Time -
Make sure you wash your hands before eating your snack. Experts say washing your hands properly must last for 20 seconds. Sing ‘Happy Birthday’ twice whilst you’re washing your hands, when you’ve finished singing it’s time to dry your hands.
My Family
Children look in a mirror and draw a picture of themselves. Can you draw your family? How do you look similar or different? Do you know how unique you are? Can you add your features such as eyes, ears, mouth and nose?
Remember how to enclose spaces!
Speaking
Can you describe the people in your family? What do they look like?
You could use your play dough from Friday to make your family!
"Playdough is a great resource for developing your child's fine motor skills. Did you know there are 34 muscles in the hand and 18 in the forearm. All of these muscles take time and exercise to gain good control. So playdough helps children to eventually control their pencil too!"
We would love you to upload an ILD observation of how your child talks about their family.
Lunch Time
Can you pour your own drink and use an open cup?
Can you use a spoon to serve yourself some food?
...and don’t forget to tidy away and wash up your things!
Today’s song time is….
Row Row your Boat
Nap Time!
If you usually have a nap after lunch, have a lovely sleep!
This is the music that we use in the sleep room everyday to help to settle the children to sleep:

Holly loves seeing her teachers and listening to the stories. We really enjoyed making Gingerbread Man puppets and doing the 'skeleton dance'. We can't wait to listen to Owl Babies today. Have a lovely day everyone.

Thank you all for these lovely videos and suggestions. Elsie especially loves the singing activities. She's missing Nursery lots. These posts are helping us all to feel connected :) Take care everyone.
