Welcome to the Nursery learning page. Don't forget to register each morning on the opening page.

These are some ideas for learning at home today. Parents please remember that there is no expectation to complete all of these! Keeping a routine for your child and maintaining contact with school are the most important thing. The Skeleton Dance

Can you move the different parts of your body to the music? This is a great way to learn new vocabulary and to get our bodies ready for some fabulous learning. Where is your thigh?

Rhyming is a great way to tune young ears into sounds which helps children when learning phonics. Identifying rhyming words requires listening out for the sounds that come at the end of words. This is linked to blending and segmenting phonics sounds when reading and writing words. This is why we sing so much in FS!

Today's story time is...

Making Playdough!

Make your own play dough with this gluten free recipe. Gluten free recipe

Encourage your child to get involved with the measuring and mixing. In school, we often explore rice flour for mark making...

...then adding water a little at a time to see what happens and how it changes. You can also add small drops of food colouring or paint!

The play dough should last 2 weeks if you put it in a sealed container when you have finished with it!

Snack Time -

Can you help to make your snack?

Independence is so important in normal everyday routines. Chopping and peeling not only helps to develop fine motor skills but children always surprise us with different ways of thinking when deciding how to do things for themselves!

Enjoy playing with your dough!

We would love you to upload an ILD observation of your child describing how the play dough feels.“The play dough feels warm/squishy/soft/crumbly”

Lunch Time

Can you pour your own drink and use an open cup?

Can you use a spoon confidently to feed yourself?

...and don’t forget to tidy away and wash up your things!

Mathematics

Today’s song time is….

Five Currant Buns

Maybe you can use the play dough that you made today to make 5 currant buns and set up your own Bakers Shop. Can you sell your currant buns to your family? How many are left each time?

Nap Time!

If you usually have a nap after lunch, have a lovely sleep!

This is the music that we use in the sleep room everyday to help to settle the children to sleep:

Story Time....

If you have a balloon at home... Why not ask someone to blow one up as part of your story!

Can you sing Happy Birthday to Kipper?

Goodbye Song

We would love you to upload an ILD observation of your child learning today.
