All About Me...

Our youngest learners are developing their personal, social and emotional skills through their interactions, their independence and their play.  Never more can this be seen than when children are expressing their preferences, their interests and feeling the power of making choices for themselves. Autonomy is a powerful path to learning.

With this growing sense of self comes the ability to talk about and enjoy an understanding of what makes me...

In nursery we love that during CSL, some of you have started the 'All About Me..." books. These are a fabulous way to encourage and support children to think about...

  •  Who they are?
  • What are their unique abilities?
  • How they make choices and decisions?
  • How they talk about themselves?
  • What they enjoy?
  • What they find a challenge and how they can overcome those challenges?

If you have your child's 'All About Me...' book at home, please send it in for us. We are going to create a bookshelf, quiet area so that the children can enjoy these wonderful creations.

Learning suggestion at home - support your child to draw a self portrait and use this as a starting point to discuss 'I am wonderful, I am me!'.  Remember it is not just what we look like, that makes us so special, our personality and character is unique. It is good to talk about how we are the same and how we are different?   Please add this to your 'All About me...' book and bring the book to Nursery for your child to share.

Learning suggestion at home - encourage your child to use their hands to make a creation of their choice. Please add this to your 'All About Me...'book and bring the book to Nursery for your child to share.

Here are our learning moments from in school this week.

Please do not forget our Yuletide Donation drive for the Homes of Praise nursery next week.  We are kind and compassionate.

We wish you a wonderful, restful weekend and we look forward to another week of exciting opportunities.
