It's hot season here in Thailand so this afternoon we encourage you to cool off in the water. Here are a range of ideas, depending on what you have access to...
1. Go for a swim at a local pool (remember to follow all social distancing rules which apply)
2. Go for a swim at your condo or clubhouse pool (as above)
3. Have a splash about in your garden with the garden hose of sprinkler system - I love jumping on the trampoline and playing with the hose at the same time. Maybe build a "slip and slide" if you have a plastic tarp lying around.
4. Jump in your inflatable pool and splash about.
Did you know inflatable pools were one of Lazada Thailand's most popular items during the Covid-19 lockdown!
5. Have a nice relaxing bubble bath, play some music and read a book or magazine.
Remember safety first - adult supervision is required if you are Primary school aged and going swimming.
Here are my Top 3 Favourite Pool Games for you to try...
1. Sharks and Minnows
The shark starts in the middle of the pool, while the minnows line up along one side. On "go" the minnows must swim to the other side without getting tagged. Those caught become Sharks and help for the next round. Repeat until only one minnow is left - they are the winner.
2. Marco Polo
One person is "it". The close their eyes or pull down their swim cap to cover their goggles and call out "Marco", everyone else in the pool replies "Polo". The person must then use their hearing to guide them to tag the others. If you catch someone they become "it".
3. Paper, Scissors, Rock, Swim!
Underwater play a game of Paper, Scissors, Rock. You lose, you have to swim two laps as punishment. Play best of 3/5/as many rounds as you have energy for.
