Introduction


Today's Minecrafting will focus on which team demonstrates IBLP attributes the most consistently throughout the set challenges.

This does not mean that you cannot explore, create, attack, ambush, trap, steal, fortify etc. But the winning team will be the team who most clearly demonstrates the attributes and also completes the challenges the best out of the 2 teams.

20 Points in total are available and the team with the most will be declared the winner.

10 Points - 1 Point for each of the IBLP attributes awarded to the team who best demonstrates that attribute throughout the session.

10 Points - 2 Points for each of the challenges won.


IB Learner Profile Attributes - 10 Points

Below are the 10 attributes and some hints as to how you might try to best demonstrate them, however there are a number of ways to do this which you must best decide upon.

Inquirers - Research independently or as a group new skills to use to complete the challenges.

Knowledgeable - Share your knowledge or crafting with your peers and help them achieve their own goals.

Thinkers - Plan your structures on paper as a team before simply jumping in and creating adhoc buildings with no clear plan.

Communicators - Communicate with all members of your team efficiently, maybe a Skype chat or a shared Google Doc.

Principled - Consider your in game actions and the effects they have on a team. Stealing Diamonds for your own armor may have implications for your team.

Open-minded - You may want to try a different role than your used to playing, so as to help the greater good of the team.

Caring - Someone starving? Ill equipped? New to Minecraft? Make some sacrifices and show them the ropes or help them out.

Courageous - Fearless in battle! Protecting your team in the open regions fearlessly!

Balanced - Got your dream role of warrior? Maybe let others experience the role and take a turn mining for coal/dirt.

Reflective - If someone makes a suggestion that you initially dismiss, give it a second thought. Listen to others and reflect on their views about how best to tackle the challenges.

Challenges - 10 Points (2 Points each)

These are the challenges you will work as a team to complete whilst demonstrating the IBLP attributes. Some of these can be completed inside your safe zone, others will might need to be completed in the dangers of the outside world, where you can be lawfully attacked! Advice - PLAN and Teamwork.

Rules

  1. No direct or indirect attacking, stealing or destroying of opposition safe zone or players within.
  2. No inappropriate language
  3. No trolling / griefing team-mates or their property / structures
  4. No use of exploits / hacks / mods / cheats
  5. No complaining, begging or harassing players or teachers
  6. Nether is Disabled

Allowed

  1. Attack, stalk, troll, trap, ambush opposition players if they are OUTSIDE their safe zone.
  2. Collect any items dropped by any player (but consider the IBLP when deciding what to do with them...)
  3. Trade / interact with team-mates and opposition
