Living our Values

We are diverse and inclusive

End of day timings from Monday 14th September 2020

From Monday 14th September, departure times from year groups will revert back to 2:30 for all students.

If you are collecting a child at the end of the school day, please note that departure times for different year groups will no longer be staggered.

All Primary students going home by private transport will still exit between the Arts Centre and the FS Building.

Food celebration

As part of our author study focusing on the novel ‘Thai –Riffic!’ we have been learning about different cultures and values that represent that culture, which also links in with one of our key values; valuing our interculturalism. We would like to organise a Multicultural Celebration in classes to celebrate the wide variety of multiculturalism in Year 6 and for the children to have a chance to learn about different cuisines from around the world.

We ask that students bring in a dish that is meaningful to their family or something that represents their home culture. This only needs to be a small plate of food as due to COVID restrictions, we are unable to have sharing plates this year. The session will take place on Thursday 17th September in our Literacy lesson.

  • If they leave their mask at PE/Swimming, they can go back for it, but must not pick up a mask unless they are completely sure it is theirs
  • If they have no mask, they will need to get a new mask from the Primary office. There will be a 50baht charge for this.

Musician of the Month

Every month Primary Music features a Musician of the Month during lessons. We include a diverse range of performers, arrangers and composers.

This month we are celebrating the music of Celia Cruz and our video of the week is one of Celia’s most famous salsa songs:

La Vida Es Un Carnaval - Life is a party

Happy Birthday to:

Khaohom (6T)

Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, we are asking students NOT to bring in any cakes or treats from home to share with members of the class. We will however sing Happy Birthday at some point throughout the day.

Learning

Design a Residential Hat Competition

A reminder to our Year 6 students that they are encouraged to enter a design for a residential hat. The winning design will be worn by all Year 6 students during our residential to Chanthaburi.

  • The entry deadline is Tuesday 15th September.
  • Students should hand their designs directly to Mrs Dunford
  • Entries should be a circular design, and they should have ‘resi’ and ‘Chanthaburi’ spelled correctly.

Connected Learning

Soon, the students will be creating a self-portrait using mixed media. We need to collect some materials to enable the children to do this. If you have any spare/leftover wrapping paper, wallpaper or any patterned/textured paper, please could you send it in with your child.

Global Citizenship

If you would like your child to be aware of world news and events but find it too overwhelming, have a look at Newsround for a more age appropriate version of current events.
