Well-Being

Student Code of Conduct:

Over the next few weeks, your child will come home with a signed copy of the Student Code of Conduct. In class, we have reviewed this, and all students have chosen four trusted adults who they feel confident enough to speak to if they do not feel safe.

Please take some time to go through the code of conduct with your child.

Dance & Drama

The Dance and Drama Academy will be holding auditions for the 'Junior' Company and the 'Senior' Company. These will be two brand new groups starting fresh this year that will work as a team over a yearlong programme.

We are looking for committed, team players who have a passion for dance and have experience in Contemporary, Jazz and Hip Hop as well as performance experience.

The BPS Juniors will be auditioning Friday 30th August 2.30pm - 4.30pm

The BPS Seniors will be auditioning Monday 2nd September 2.30pm - 4.30pm

If you would like to audition please sign up using the google doc below or contact Miss Tammy for more information tasp@patana.ac.th

Year 5 Introduction to the Learning Meeting

Monday 26th August at 15:30 in the Year 5 shared area

This meeting will provide a brief overview of what to expect in Year 5.

Following a brief presentation, you are invited to visit your child’s classroom to meet the class teacher.

If you want to discuss your child’s needs in any detail, please make a separate appointment with the teacher.

Learning Theme: Space

During our first unit of learning we will explore the theme of Space.

For our Design and Technology learning we need to collect Junk for a Junk Modelling project.

If you have items at home such as boxes, toilet roll cylinders, plastic bottles, yoghurt pots that could be donated please could these be sent in with our students. Please ensure these are clean and washed. Thank you in advance for your support.

P.E

Welcome back to Primary PE! Please see the table below for activities, day and times of your child’s PE lessons for Unit 1.

Kit Reminders:

Swimming: Black swim costume, goggles, towel and swimming hat (for long hair). Long sleeve rash top optional.

Basketball: Patana PE Kit, socks, trainers/sports shoes and water bottle.

Your child has already met their PE teacher, but if you have any further questions please contact their PE teacher directly.

Birthdays

Nut free Primary School

For some children, any exposure to nuts is potentially very dangerous and can be life threatening.

We do not allow any nuts to be brought into Primary. This includes snacks on school transport, birthday treats and food items brought in for any other special days.

Some treats, such as macarons (see picture), contain hidden nuts. Please check the ingredients before sending into school. If snacks or birthday treats are found to contain nuts, we will contact you and either dispose of the food safely or ask you to collect and take back home.

Happy Birthday this week to...

Eva (5J)
Poon (5M)

General Information

School dress code

Year 5 are all looking very smart. We would just like to share the follow expectations with you so that you can support your child with this.

Hair

Hair longer than the shoulders should be clipped or tied back.

The same for any long fringes that hide the face.

No bright hair dyes/braids/obvious buzz cuts.

Jewellery

Watches, small stud earrings and jewellery of religious or medical significance are all fine.

Anything worn around the neck should be kept underneath the school shirt.

Smart watches – students should not be using these to contact parents during the school day.

Wrist bands and other accessories should be left at home.

Shoes and socks and other clothing

White socks and plain black shoes (smart all black trainers are acceptable).

Jackets:

Blue Patana jackets only. This are available in the school shop.

Lost Property

Parents and children are encouraged to search lost property before purchasing replacement items.

Please visit https://patana.fireflycloud.asia/community-events/lost-property or scan the code and log in.

Student Safeguarding at the end of the day

Going home by private transport: Y4 – Y6

All children should go home as soon as possible at the end of the school day and most meet a parent/carer outside their year group building or at one regular place throughout the year.

Y4-6 students waiting for a sibling should sign in at the Primary Library until it is time to meet their siblings and go home.

It is not safe for Primary students to leave the school premises unaccompanied to reach a vehicle parked further up the Soi. Please use our drop off and school parking zones.

Going home by school bus: Y4 – Y6

Most students are met on arrival by a parent or other trusted adult but we recognise that Y4-Y6 students are increasingly independent and ready to make their own way from the bus drop off to their home.

Going to a different location by school bus: All Primary Students

Primary students must be met by a parent/carer if going to another location that is not their home.

If there is no one to meet them at bus drop off, they will be driven back to Patana to await collection.
