A note from the principal
Well done to our Year 3 students and teachers on a fantastic Residential in Pattaya! We are always delighted to see them set off and just as happy to welcome them back safely.
We have had a few cases of Hand, Foot, and Mouth (HFM) in Primary—this is a common childhood illness that is easily passed to others. Please watch for symptoms like a fever, sore throat, and blisters. If your child is diagnosed, please send the medical certificate promptly to the class teacher or our Nursing team. This helps us coordinate with Health Authorities to take appropriate steps. If a class is instructed to close, learning will continue online via our CSL program. Unwell students should not attend ECAs or events.

Well-being
Start of day timings
For families who arrive by car, getting departure and arrival times right can be difficult.
You don’t want to arrive to early, but you also don’t want to be stuck in the LaSalle traffic.
The occasional late arrival is well understood - and sometimes unavoidable.
However, the class teacher will be in contact if there is a persistent pattern of lateness.
Primary school timings – start of day
- Staff on duty from 7 a.m.
- Students enter classrooms at 7:30.
- Timetabled learning begins at 7:40.
If a child arrives rushed, and perhaps stressed about missing a lesson, this is not the best start to their day.
Those first ten minutes, from 7:30 – 7:40, are an important part of the school day.
Established start-of-day routines give children time to settle and switch into learner mode.
We want all of our children to know about the importance of punctuality, and not only in their school setting.
Taking photos and videos of students on Campus
At Bangkok Patana School we welcome parents on to our campus.
As part of this agreement, all parents must agree to our Parents’ Safeguarding Code of Conduct.
This includes:
- Never taking images in toilets, changing rooms or areas where privacy is expected.
- Using judgement before taking and before sharing images of students.
During a regular school day, parents may only take images of their own child – unless they have sought and received permission from another family to include their child in a group photo.
Family employees with access to the campus must also abide by this rule.
Where and when can parents take photos and videos when on campus?
Physical development and PE kit
A number of our students will enter puberty whilst in Primary school.
Every child will pass through puberty at a different time, and at a different rate.
Some children may feel more comfortable wearing a lightweight sports bra or crop top under their PE kit.
Birthday Treats
Children may bring in a special treat to share with the class.
Please contact the class teacher to arrange a suitable time.
- Brownies, cupcakes, small donuts, and cake slices are easier for your child to give out.
· We do not give out drinks (e.g., bubble tea, sodas)
· Please reduce plastic packaging.
· We do not allow party bags or other gifts to be given out at school, either for birthdays, or other celebrations.
- Please agree a time with the teacher in advance.
- Parents can join in the celebrations.
We are a NUT FREE school. When ordering birthday treats, please ensure that there are no nuts or nut products (such as Nutella or peanut butter) used.

Space Explorers
The BITEC arena is currently hosting an exciting space exhibition that fits well with our current unit of learning about space. It seems like a great opportunity for our students to develop their knowledge about space buggies, shuttles, space clothing and more. As we will be going to the planetarium (Science Centre) on our Term 2 educational visit as a year group, we won’t be attending this event together, so we’d like to encourage families to go along and enjoy the exhibits at the weekend. It’s a wonderful chance to spark curiosity, share in your child's learning journey, and perhaps even pick up some space knowledge from your budding astronaut!
PE
It is recommended that students wear football boots and shinpads for their kicking lessons.
Students should come to school in their PE kit on PE days.
Please ensure that your child brings their uniform with them to get changed into after their PE lessons.

Please encourage your child to complete their home learning.
Events In The World
You can keep up to date with current events around the world by watching Newsround, an age appropriate news show. Being aware of current events will help your child to make connections with a range of themes when reading in class, and it is an ideal opportunity for you to model discussing your opinions and using experiences to draw connections between events and people.
