A note from the Principal
A Note from the Principal
14 March 2025
This Wednesday, we were delighted to host 11 schools for our first-ever Language Olympiad! The event brought together Primary and Secondary students from across Bangkok and beyond to celebrate multilingualism and culture. It was a fantastic day—congratulations to all the students who took part!
In other news, the Year 3 residentials are going very well. Four classes have been away this week, with another four heading off next week.
Great job Patana Primary!

Information mornings for Primary Parents March 2025
Dear Parents,
During Term 2B, we introduce age-appropriate RSE units as part of our Personal, Social and Health Education curriculum in Years 1 to 6. These units help children to develop an understanding of their own physical, social and emotional development, and encompass key values such as respect, kindness and consent.
If you would like to hear more about how and what we teach your child, please join us at a parent presentation. Please sign up via the links below.
You may also find these suggestions for talking with your child helpful.
All presentations start at 8 a.m. in the Primary Hall.
All presentations will be recorded and made available to Patana parents.

Learning
Junk Modelling
To support our learning in Term 3, we are asking for your support to send in any junk modelling resources: box, plastic bottles, cardboard etc.
Thank you for your support.
Times Table Rock Stars
By the end of Year 4, all students will be expected to know their times tables up to 12 x 12. This is an essential skills. If students do not know these, it will mean that they are not meeting the expectations.
To support students with learning their times tables, they can use TTRS online application. They have their own login details. Ideally, they should spend at least ten minutes three times a week. This will help them to remember the facts. Here is a video showing you how TTRS works.
World Wide Times Tables Competition
Our Year group have enrolled for the Times Table Rockstars online battle vs the rest of the world!
Students can log in using their usual details.
The winning school and class will be based on the highest average number of correct answers per student.
Every correct answer that a student gives, in any game type, during the competition will contribute to their class and school score.
There is a 60-minute limit playtime per player, per day.
Each class has a minimum player count of 10. If fewer than 10 in the class play in the competition, their total will be divided by 10 regardless.
The battle opens at 7am on 11th March 2025.
The battle closes at 7am on 14th March 2025.
Class blogs
Each week, we publish class blogs. The purpose of these is to give you an insight into your child's learning and what is happening in Year 4. Please visit the class blog and discuss your child's learning with them.

Birthdays
Parents should not bring in class gifts, balloons, bubbles, whistles, games, drinks etc. Your child's class teacher will politely ask you to take these home with you. We enjoy celebrating birthdays by sharing a birthday treat such as donuts or cakes.
We are a NUT FREE school. Please when ordering birthday treats double check before bringing treats on the campus.
Many toppings offered by some donut shops have flaked almonds in their toppings and peanut butter fillings. If you bring these in, unfortunately, we will have to send them home
Birthday Treats
- Children may bring in a special treat to share with the class.
- Please contact the class teacher to arrange a suitable time. In Year 4, you can do this on Monday or Wednesday as we have Spelling lessons on other days.
- Brownies, cupcakes, small donuts, and cake slices are easier for your child to give out.
- We do not give out drinks (e.g., bubble tea, sodas)
- Please reduce plastic packaging.
- We do not allow party bags or other gifts to be given out at school, either for birthdays, or other celebrations.
The following students celebrated their birthdays this week:
Wushan
Charley
