Learning task: Make predictions and inferences about The Shoemaker.


How can I share my learning?

  • You can create an audio file of you answering the questions.
  • You can make a ‘Small Shoemaker’ predictions poster using your answers to the questions.
  • You can answer the questions and share them on your google doc

Instructions:

1. Watch the video. Pause and play when you are asked to

2. Answer the prediction questions.

3. Answer the inference questions.

4. Choose how you want to record your learning.

Can you remember what a prediction is?


Watch ‘The Shoemaker’ but pause the film when you get to 35 seconds.



Then, answer these questions. Try to answer using full sentences.

Prediction questions:

What do you think this film is about and why?

Where is this film set? How do you know?

What do you think might happen next?


Watch ‘The Shoemaker’ from the beginning again. This time, stop at 1 minute.


Inference questions:


  1. What time of day is it in this scene? How do you know?


  1. How do you think the shoemaker is feeling? Why?


  1. Do you think the shoemaker is proud of his shop? Why?



Now enjoy the rest of the film!
