Living our Values

We are : Empowered by our  interculturalism.

Learning

This term our learning theme is ‘Celebrations', please don't forget that we would like to invite you and/or your child to share a celebration with their class. This could be one or two digital slides, a poster, some photos or an artefact. Please contact your class teacher if you are interested in sharing a celebration with us.

Just a little reminder that all ECA's [except Danish language] finish today and re-start in 2 weeks time.

Loi Krathong -  Monday 11th November

Loi Krathong is a festival for honouring the rivers and waters. A Krathong is floated on the waters with good wishes for the year ahead. It is made from woven banana leaves and decorated with flowers and incenses.

Thai dress

Students are encouraged to wear traditional Thai clothes to school. Any effort is appreciated. You may find the clothes at the local markets, Big C or Tesco. Best if you could ask your Thai friends, nannies or drivers to help. Please wash the clothes before wearing them.

The Young Americans - International School Bangkok will be hosting workshops in music, dance and performance to students from 6 to 18 years old. The workshops are offering by the Young Americans on 25 – 26 January 2020. For more detail, please click here.

Non Fiction November

The library will be having a month of celebrating non-fiction this month and have several special events for us to join in with;

- D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) 15th November, between 10:15 and 10:30

Don't forget we have our whole School ‘Dress-Up’ Day coming up on Friday 29th November. The theme is Non-Fiction so the students are encouraged to come dressed as dinosaurs, animals, flowers, transport, a sport....... we are looking forward to seeing lots of home-made costumes.

Well-Being

Sharing of snacks after school

Please can we remind parents that the sharing of snacks is not allowed in the primary school, including after school. This is to ensure all our student's are kept safe, as we have a number of students with potentially critical allergies. Many thanks for your support.

Junk modelling

We love to receive empty boxes, cardboard tubes, plastic bottles etc for the students to be creative with but please can we ask that they are washed out first and that, for safety, you don't send in any glass items - thank you.

Global Citizenship

Did you know that each classroom has a container where old batteries can be recycled? Please send any used batteries in to school with your child.

Birthdays

Happy Birthday to...

Olivia (1F), Cam (1S), Pam (1T) and Sara (1E).

We enjoy mini-celebrations in class but ask that you pre-arrange a time with the teacher. Individual portions such as brownies and cupcakes are easier to share out. All food sent in to school must be nut free. It is school policy, that teachers are not able to give out party bags or other gifts as part of a birthday celebration.
