A note from Mrs McCormack (Primary Principal):
12 Jan 2024
Welcome back to Term 2A! We were thrilled to have our students return to campus on Monday, reconnecting with everyone post-holidays. Additionally, we are so happy to finally meet the nearly 40 new families joining Patana Primary. I hope our new students had a fantastic first week.
In this short half term, we are gearing up for a busy schedule, including the start of KS2 residentials on January 22nd for two weeks. I am looking forward to joining in Khao Yai this year. Do keep an eye on ISAMS for essential dates, including the informative parent partnerships and the much-anticipated Fun Day on February 10th.

School Photos
School Photos Start Next Week!
This year we have a new company who will be taking our school photos, following feedback from parents. Pret-a-Portrait have been taking photos at international schools and private schools the same size around the globe, and come highly recommended.
One change is that parents who choose to purchase photos will receive the full digital files and can then choose to print where ever they wish. Pret-a-Portrait does not provide hard goods such as magnets, frames, etc.
Please ensure that your child is present on their scheduled photo day as we do not photoshop missing students into the class group photos. If your child has to miss the scheduled class photo – they can still get their individual photos done later in the week. In the Yearbook, we will add your child’s individual photo beside the class photo.
Formal School photos also start next week with the Primary School from 15th – 24th January, and Secondary School from 25th January through to 2nd February. If parents wish to take advantage of a family photo session, please use the links below to book a slot. Booking system will close on 16th January at noon:
15-19 Jan, Primary Hall: https://buytickets.at/pretaportrait/1085160
23 Jan, Foundation Stage: https://buytickets.at/pretaportrait/1085201
25-26 Jan, 29 Jan- 1 Feb: Conference Centre: https://buytickets.at/pretaportrait/1085203

General Information
Preventing the spread of influenza (newsletters November 23)
We currently have a number of children absent with influenza.
Influenza is a serious and contagious infection that affects the nose, throat, and respiratory system.
The virus is commonly spread through droplets in the air, allowing infection to spread quickly.
Children with cold or flu (influenza) symptoms should be kept at home until they are completely recovered.
Even when the main symptoms have gone, your child may still need time to return to full strength.
Please do not send your child back to school too soon, even if they are no longer in the contagious phase.
If your child is still coughing or sneezing, please keep them at home and limit their contact with other children.
A child who has a fever should be kept at home until ‘fever free’ for a minimum of 24 hours.
When unsure, always seek medical advice, especially if a child has a chronic condition e.g., asthma.
If Influenza is confirmed, please send a copy of the medical certificate to Nurse@patana.ac.th
Snacks before ECAs
Sometimes the students are hungry after a long day at school and before their ECA begins.
Teachers allow the students time at the end of the day to eat their snack if they need it.
Please make sure this snack is in their bag for them to eat independently without support.
If you wish to see your child before their ECA please email the class teacher in advance so they can hand them over to you whilst ensuring all other children are safely taken to their ECA providers.
Birthday celebrations
The following students are celebrating their birthdays next week...
Yoyo (1S), Adrija (1J), Samarth (1R), Ethan (1V), Yin (1J) and Kei (1N). A very big happy birthday to you all!
Reminder: We cannot give out party bags or gifts - please keep these for any sort of celebration that you do out of school.
If you would like to send in some birthday treats for your child to share with their class, please arrange a day with your child's class teacher. We will only be able to manage individual items like brownies, doughnuts, or cupcakes.
Please remember we are a nut-free Primary School and also check with the class teacher for any other dietary requirements of the class.
