A note from Mrs McCormack (Primary Principal):

17 November 2023

A note from the Principal

Dear Parents,

This week, I have enjoyed being in classes much more than usual as I am dropping in to support our new cohort of teachers. These drop-ins are part of our new staff induction and are a great opportunity to talk about all the fantastic learning that is happening! I am also being ‘class teacher’ on a Thursday in Y5A, and I am currently brushing up on my Art skills.

Thank you to all the parents who joined us for our Parent-Teacher meetings and 3-way conferencing today. We love showcasing the work of our students and having a chance to connect with you. We also look forward to seeing many of our families on Monday for International Day.

International Day

On Monday 20th of November we celebrate the diversity of our school community through International Day! Please come to school wearing colours of your country or traditional dress.

Year 1 students should come to their classrooms as normal in the morning. They will be walked in country groups from their classrooms to the tents for the beginning of the parade. Please meet your children at the tents on the Back Field if you are taking part in the parade.

When we arrive at the hall please leave the children with our secondary student country representatives and the teachers. All parents are asked to sit and watch from upstairs due to the limited space in the sports hall.

Helping Students Navigate Friendships

Storytelling Dress Up Day

Swimming Costume Donations

If you have any old children's swimming costumes, we would really appreciate them being donated so that we can give them to the communities of Khlong Toey when they come to use the facilities at school.

Snacks before ECAs

Sometimes the students are hungry after a long day at school and before their ECA begins.

Teachers allow the students time at the end of the day to eat their snack if they need it.

Please make sure this snack is in their bag for them to eat independently without support.

If you wish to see your child before their ECA please email the class teacher in advance so they can hand them over to you whilst ensuring all other children are safely taken to their ECA providers.

Birthday celebrations

The following students are celebrating their birthdays next week...

Leon (1J), Sacha (1P), Anya (1J) and Risa (1V). A very big happy birthday to you all!

Reminder: We cannot give out party bags or gifts - please keep these for any sort of celebration that you do out of school.

If you would like to send in some birthday treats for your child to share with their class, please arrange a day with your child's class teacher. We will only be able to manage individual items like brownies, doughnuts, or cupcakes.

Please remember we are a nut-free Primary School and also check with the class teacher for any other dietary requirements of the class.
