On Friday 30th January, Bangkok Patana held its second community Farmer's Market. Over 30 vendors from all over greater Bangkok sold their environmentally friendly, local fare to the Patana community in the afternoon. The Farmer's Market does not only support local businesses, but it also provides healthy and whole foods at reasonable prices. The Student Environmental Committee had our own stall at the Market to promote and provide subsidised water bottles in order to discourage the use of disposable PET plastic bottles as well as one-time use only paper drinking cups. The bottles, priced at 200 baht, are an environmentally friendly, BPA free alternative that keeps students, teachers and parents hydrated.
The Student Environmental Committee eagerly awaits the next Bangkok Patana Farmer's Market - a fun, novel and perhaps most importantly, environmentally conscious affair.
