POSITIONS UP FOR ELECTION IN 2021/22

NOMINATED FOR: Chair (1 nomination)

I am currently nominating myself for the Chair position. I was previously vice-Chair of the PTG. I have a good understanding of the school and the parents and feel my nomination would serve the community in a positive way. Thank you.

AKI ROUGHLEY

NOMINATED FOR: Vice Chair (1 nomination)

I have been with the Patana for 11 years and with the PTG in various positions for the last four years. I have two daughters in Y10 and Y11 who have started at Patana from the very beginning of their education. As a expat child myself, I am a huge fan of the international school environment, giving my girls a truly global education like no other. I have enjoyed being a part of the PTG, and hope to engage in more exciting projects with the Patana community.

JONATHAN LEE

NOMINATED FOR: Treasurer (3 nominations) , Events Coordinator (1 nomination)

I am a parent of Elliott Lee in Year 4. I am excited to be joining the Patana community this year having recently relocated from the US. My wife and I were both actively involved with Elliott’s previous school helping out with various school events, library, and fundraisers.

ROBERT SCOTT

NOMINATED FOR: Treasurer ( 1 nomination)

I have been a parent at Patana for 6 years, starting with tiny Tigers, and my daughter is now in year 3. I started volunteering at the Fun Day event, and have held the treasurer role for the last 2 years.

ANCHAL PATHELA

NOMINATED FOR: Events Coordinator (6 nominations)

I am a mother of two boys in Patana in Years 2 and 5. I am outgoing, love playing sports and have a passion for food and cooking! I want to be a part of the PTG because I believe that the PTG plays an integral role in nurturing a link between parents and the school. My energy, creativity and attention to detail I believe is what will make me good at the role of PTG events coordinator. I have already been performing this role in an interim capacity for a few months, so I have a good idea of what it entails.

SNEHA MATHEW

NOMINATED FOR: Communications Coordinator (3 nominations)

I’m mom to Benjamin in Y5 and Rebekah in Y2 and a small business owner.T his is our 5th year in Patana and truly blessed to be a part of the vibrant, helpful community here. Looking forward to contributing my talents and services to the PTG community.

SONICA SOPORY

NOMINATED FOR: Year 9 Rep (1 nomination)

I am a co-active coach, most of my working life have been an HR professional. I believe anyone can achieve anything if they put their mind to it. Lately, I am feeling distant from the school community, I would like to contribute and build a connection through these times of transition.

PETRA NAHMIAS

NOMINATED FOR: Year 10 Rep (2 nominations)

I am the parent of two Patana students: Netali in Year 10 and Talya in Year 3. Together with my husband, Haggai, this is our second year at Patana and in Bangkok. We come from the UK and Israel but have also lived in the USA, Demark and now Thailand. Work-wise, I work for the United Nations, leading regional work on population and social statistics. I am standing for the role of Year 10 rep as I am putting into practice what I always say to my girls ‘Be the change you want to see’ and would love to be able to contribute to making the school experience even better for our children and community.

ALISON HOWE

NOMINATED FOR: Year 12 Rep (5 nominations)

Alison has been a Bangkok Patana parent for 8 years, and has been an active volunteer from Day 1. She brings a Patana perspective together with wider community connections and knowledge from her various other volunteer roles in organisations such as ANZWG. Alison's thoughtful, measured approach is a comfort especially for parents in these important exam years. Alison has served on the PTG previously and is currently also the Year 13 Rep, which puts her in a good position to share knowledge with Year 12 parents (written by Nominator).

Nadhaporn Chonlatanon

NOMINATED FOR: Nursery Rep (1 nomination)

I have been with Patana since my first born. Now with my second child, I believe my past experience could help with parents whom are new to this wonderful school family.

RATCHADAPORN ( SO) PARINYANUSORN

NOMINATED FOR: FS1 Year Rep (3 nominations)

My name is Ratchadaporn Parinyanusorn (Soreda), our family has been at Patana for 2 years. We really love it here! Mona is in Y3 and Lisa is in FS1. I am glad to have made many new friends and learning new things with other parents so I nominate myself to the position of FS 1 REP and looking forward to being a part of Patana this year.

KNITTING TRIYANOND

NOMINATED FOR: Year 1 Rep (1 nomination)

I am a mother of two kids who are both BPS kids. James is in year 1 and he’s been here since nursery. Jade is in FS1. I’m Thai and my husband is from the UK. I’m a fun and outgoing person who gets along quickly with other parents. That’s why I would love to volunteer as a rep.

NOMINATED FOR: Year 2 Rep (1 nomination)

I have 2 children in Patana, a daughter in year 5 and a son in year 2. This is my 3rd year here. I enjoy participating in school events!

ASHMEET KAUR

NOMINATED FOR: Year 3 Rep (2 nominations)

My name is Ashmeet Kaur, and I have 3 children at Patana - my son Jayraj is in Y5, my daughter Manriya is in Y3 and my youngest son Siraj, is in FS1. I have been a parent in Patana for 5 years, however,  I am also a primary cover teacher at Patana and was a student at the school from 1990-2004. I am also a Patana alum. 

I served as the Nursery rep last year, and this year I am nominating myself for the position of Year 3 rep. I look forward to continuing to be a part of the Patana community.

My name is Sonia Sachdev and I have 2 daughters, Aria in year 5 and Sanaa in Year 7. I have been a part of the Patana community for the last 6 years and absolutely love it!

PATTRAHAJ HEMAKUL

NOMINATED FOR: Year 6 Rep (1 nomination)

Hi, this is Ja. I have two children, Year 9 and Year 6.

I was the Year 4 and Year 5 rep in the last two years and am happy to continue as Year 6 rep.

We have been at Patana for 7 years.

PAVITHRA VIJAYARAJAN

NOMINATED FOR: Year 8 Rep (1 nomination)

I have two children attending Bangkok Patana School, in Year 10 and Year 8, and have lived in Bangkok for the past 10 years. I hold a Masters Degree in Business Administration (PGDBM).

I have previously volunteered in various capacities at Bangkok Patana, most recently at the Tiger Shop till February 2020, while also being a Volunteer Reader with a number of children in Year 6 between October 2019 and February 2020. I have also volunteered with reading and Maths in primary school in Years 3 and 4 in the past.

Having lived across various countries including Italy, Singapore and Thailand, and having most recently worked in a totally diverse and multi-cultural environment for over a year at the UN, I do demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity and am able to communicate effectively with people from a range of cultural backgrounds the world over, including Asia. It would be my immense pleasure to volunteer at the PTG, and you can be sure that I will approach the role with a whole lot of passion, as I believe, especially after experiencing 18 months in a pandemic, fostering the feeling of community is of utmost importance!

NOMINATED FOR: Primary Rep (2 nominations)

My name is Apollo Chansrichawla. I have two children at Patana, my son Lucas is in Year 6 and my daughter, Sophia is in Year 3. This is my 6th year at Patana. I have served in the PTG in various capacities such as Fun Day coordinator and Year rep for FS2, Y1and Y2. This year, am nominating myself for the position of the primary rep. and look forward to being part of the bigger Patana community.

SMITHA LAXMINARAYANA

NOMINATED FOR: Year 12 Rep (1 nomination)

I have volunteered few times for PTG before and have experienced the support and team work that goes into running the school community well. I am with the school for 6 years now and understand and know many parents and the community well enough to be part of it in a supporting capacity. Thank you.
