Nursery Continuing Learning Page Monday 20th April

Welcome Back Everyone!

Welcome to the Nursery learning page. Don't forget to register each morning on the opening page.

Good Morning!

We love to see what you are learning at home!

Thank you for sharing your special moments at home. Here are some of them...

Can you find pictures of your friends?

These are some ideas for learning at home today. Parents please remember that there is no expectation to complete all of these! Keeping a routine for your child and maintaining contact with school are the most important thing.

Wake Up Song

"Action songs not only develop language as children learn the words but also support the development of your child's gross motor skills such as balance, strength and coordination. "

Top Tip - Expand to full screen on all video links to get the best view!

You can display this page onto your television using 'Screen Mirroring' too to get an even better view!

Today's story time is..

Elmer is lots of different colours. You could collect some recycled materials from around the house to create a multicoloured hat.

Colourful hats that might look like these…

Developing fine motor skills helps build the foundation for important future skills like writing and self-care. Fine motor skills involve the use of the small muscles that control the hand, fingers, and thumb. Can you make marks on your hat using a pencil, crayon, pen or paint brush?

Can you use scissors to carefully cut materials to go on your hat?

We would love you to upload an ILD observation of your child wearing the hat they've made.

Elmer makes everyone happy. What makes you happy?

Can you make your grown up laugh? Maybe you can do a funny face!

Snack Time

Can you help to prepare your snack?

Peeling, chopping and spreading  at snack time are all great ways in which your child can develop their fine motor skills. Pouring their own drink also develops control. It can be messy but it's great learning!

Today’s song time is we have...

Today’s song time is “if you’re happy and you know it?’

Lunchtime!

Can your child eat independently?

Eating independently is another potentially messy time of day but the benefits of independence far weigh out the mess! Hand eye co-ordination is key and that gross motor movement of balancing the food on a spoon from the table to their mouth is tricky business but one day this will help your child to successfully form letter with a pencil!

Nap Time!

If you usually have a nap after lunch, have a lovely sleep!

This is the music that we use in the sleep room everyday to help to settle the children to sleep:

Keeping Children Safe Online...

Please support your children's online safety by sharing our continued learning code of conduct here:

Using ILD

ILD is the platform Foundation Stage use for sharing learning. Sending pictures and videos here allows teachers to give personalised feedback on children's learning. A gentle reminder that teachers are unable to provide feedback via email or Teams chat. A parent guide of how to use this platform is in the document below.

We would love you to upload an ILD observation of your child learning today.

Have a wonderful day of learning at home today!
