Good Morning Nursery!
Below are some ideas for learning at home today. A reminder that you don't have to do all (or any) of these today. Maintaining a routine and a connection with school are the most important things!
Wake Up Music!
Enjoy this morning's Gruffalo song!
This week we are being...
As the mouse travels through the deep, dark wood looking for tasty acorns, he happens upon a fox....
Today you might like to have a go re-telling the next part of the story - where the mouse meets the fox. You could pretend to be one of the characters and encourage someone at home to join you. What voices might you use for each character? Will your character stand tall and high or small and low to the ground?
Ms Elizabeth chose to make paper puppets to retell the meeting of mouse and fox
Can you think of another interesting way to retell this (or another) story? Puppets? Drawing? Playdough? With your toys?
Here, someone retold the story using their wooden toys and a tiny forest:
Here is a family retelling The Gruffalo using puppets:
If you need the story to help you here it is! You could re-tell page 2 and 3 today if you like!
If you’re looking for some more foxy fun check out these ideas below:

Physical Development
Let’s play puzzle hide and seek. Ask a grown up to hide the pieces of a puzzle. Move around the room and find the pieces, then complete your puzzle. Completing puzzles is a great way to develop fine motor skills, as children perform small and precise movements when picking up the puzzle pieces.
Thai guidance:
Maths
Using only 12 sticks (or pencils/chopsticks etc) what different shapes can you make? Can you make one very large shape? Or lots of smaller shapes? Are there any shapes that you can’t make with your sticks? If you only made triangles, how many could you make? What about squares? Could you use your sticks to make a picture? Get talking and get playing and have fun! Don’t forget to share some pictures of what you have done. Your teachers would love to see what you’ve been up to.
