These are some ideas for learning at home today. A reminder that you don't have to do all (or any) of these today. Maintaining a routine and a connection with school are the most important things!

Parents...
Is building something that is engaging your child? Are they showing a preference for large-scaled dens or small world construction? When we, as adults, take a step back and observe, we can notice what the child is interested in, what ideas they have and how we could help them go deeper in the learning.
A great way to support children's learning, no matter what the subject of their play, is to encourage them to reflect on their learning. Watch Ms Louise explain how to use the skill of reviewing with your child to help them learn how to reflect and improve on an original idea.

Using just ten pieces of Lego show us what you can build! I built a boat, a dog and a palm tree from my ten pieces of Lego. How creative can you be? How many different things can you make?

FS1 Segmenting Bead Slide
Thread a few beads (or dried pasta or buttons) onto a string. Adults, think of a list of 2 or 3 phoneme words. Or, use some of these:
Choose one of the words and, alongside your child, move a bead for each sound in the word. For example, ‘home.’ h - move one bead, o - move one bead, m - move one bead.

Ice sensory play - Frozen Dinosaur Eggs
Playing with ice encourages children to explore different temperatures with their senses, and to understand the concepts of cold, freezing, melting among others as they freely explore the ice.
การเล่นน้ำแข็งช่วยให้เด็กๆได้สำรวจอุณหภูมิที่แตกต่างกันด้วยประสาทสัมผัสของเค้าเอง และจะสามารถเข้าใจเรื่องของความเย็น การแข็งตัว การละลาย จากการสำรวจน้ำแข็งค่ะ
Let's make frozen dinosaur eggs!
Equipment:
- balloons
- mini dinosaur figures
- water
- glitter
Instructions:
1) Put one dinosaur inside each balloon then carefully fill the balloon with water and tie it off.
2) Put them in the freezer drawer, taking care not to squash them out of shape against anything so that they retain their egg shapes.
3) Wait until they’re completely solid, then remove from the freezer and the balloon will peel away easily. You could talk to your child about time: how long does it take for the water to freeze? Your child could estimate how long it might take, and then measure it - they could also suggest which equipment to use to measure time.
How will you play with your frozen dinosaur egss?
Now we get back to the imaginative play! You might decorate them, hide them, or explore how to get the dinosaurs out. What do you notice about the ice? How does it feel? Why is it melting? Can you make it melt faster or slower - how?
Next time, you might make the eggs differently by adding different food colouring in the water, putting different objects in the ice (such as plastic toys, leaves, flowers), or use different shaped containers to make ice of different shapes and sizes.
