Sugar scrub is great for your skin and best of all this recipe has all fresh ingredients you can find at home with no preservatives or chemicals. I makes a lovely gift too!
Ask for help from an adult when cutting the lemon and using the grater if you are in Primary School. Remember although this body scrub smells sweet and delicious it is NOT EDIBLE.
Ingredients:
1 lemon
1 - 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 tablespoon coconut oil (you can also use olive oil or grapeseed oil if you don't have coconut oil)
1 tablespoon unscented liquid hand soap
You'll also need:
A clean jar
knife
spoon
Method:
- Wash your hands
- Grate the lemon skin and place lemon zest into a small glass bowl. Cut lemon in half with a knife and squeeze juice into bowl with the lemon zest. Remove any seeds from the juice with a spoon and discard.
- Add coconut oil and stir together until smooth and any lumps of coconut oil have been dissolved. Add soap and stir until smooth.
- Add 1 cup of sugar and stir until well-combined. If a more grainy sugar scrub is desired, add more sugar.
- Pour sugar scrub into gift jar and affix printed gift label.
