Fabulous Artists in 1E

Today we visited the Art room and took part in a wonderful lesson all about mono-printing. The children took photocopies of Fairytale characters that we had already painted and used them to create a print by lying the picture on top of black ink then drawing around the outline very carefully. Then they practiced creating detail using different lines, swirls, dashes and zig-zags, resisting the urge to scribble. We found it was important not to rest your hand on the paper as this would create a big black hand-print on the other side! The children thought carefully after each print as to how they could improve it so, by their third ones, they had particularly successful mono-prints. Here are some photos of the session.
