Y3 MC Inventions - Observers and Dispensers

Observers (Inputs) and Dispensers (Outputs)

  1. Observers - Act like a sensor input, either On or Off

  2. Dispenser - Will dispense resources when triggered

If we connect these two blocks with Redstone, one will trigger the other.  Can you think of ways to use them in your amazing machine?

This week we will start in a new Template - Badlands.  This template is ideal for our final project so we can take a look today.

Step 1 - Load a your world

Try the three build ideas below.

Build 1 (noob) - Using the Dispenser block - As a firework launcher!

Resources you will need

Pressure Plate To Dispenser        by MrMaxICT        on Sketchfab

The pressure plate signal is weak so we need a Repeater (like in week 1) to extend the range.

Top Tip - The repeater has to face the way of the signal - so towards the next block.

Build 2 - Use an Observer and a Dispenser

Resources you will need

Pressure To Piston To Observer To Dispenser        by MrMaxICT        on Sketchfab

Don't forget to fill your Dispenser with the things you want it to dispense!!

An observer sends a signal with any change, so when a block both appears and disappears!

Build 3 (Pro) - Linking things together in a chain.

Today's final build you will build an arrow firing range, firework machine!

TOP TIP

To place dispensers in a wall build the wool with wool first then replace the blocks from the top.

(You can also hold shift on a PC)

Once complete it will look something like this!

Arrow Firing Range        by MrMaxICT        on Sketchfab

How could you apply previous builds, systems, logic gates, minecarts, pistons or lamps to link this to another system?

Your challenge in the weeks to come is to plan and build an Amazing Minecraft Machine which links multiple systems together!
