Sharing the learning this term - parental permission required

Please let your child's class teacher know if you are happy for some of your child’s ILD observations to occasionally appear on our FS CSL blog. We will not share ILD observations on here without your permission.

Wake up and shake up with Ms Rachel + special guest! 

Singing nursery rhymes and songs to children can help develop their language and communication skills from an early age.

This is a new song for us to learn. The words are below - can you join in with your Mummy and Daddy?

You can even play along with some spoons if you want to!

This is a song about mice running up clocks - join in if you know it!

Birthday corner! 

There are no birthdays in FS today!

These are some ideas for learning at home today. A reminder that you don't have to do all (or any) of these today. Maintaining a routine and a connection with school are the most important things! 

This Foundation Stage project is a great challenge that can be stretched out over the whole week. It is broken down into different phases, each one focusing on a different aspect of the design process.

You can choose how quickly you want to complete the phases of this week’s challenge. You may want to do one phase each day or you may want to do several phases in one day, it all depends on how motivated your child is - learning at home shouldn't be hard work for them or you!

Plan: Choose what kind of ball run you want to make. Decide on your theme (if you want one). Write a list of the equipment you need

Early Years Developmental Indicators:

• They safely use and explore a variety of materials, tools and techniques, experimenting, design, form and function.
• They make observations and explain why some things occur (forces and motion)

• Read / Write: Can I write a simple list of things that I will need? (FS2) Can I draw and label a design? - (FS1) - Adult can write it down whilst the child says the words. Can your child tell you any of the sounds in the words eg: “b - o - x “

Rainbows make people smile and are often a sign of hope. Can you make a rainbow? How would you like to do it using objects from home? Please post your rainbow picture to ILD!

What would you like to find at the end of a rainbow? Share your answers with the adult supporting you. Use your imagination creatively!

Phonics Time!

FS1 - Voice Sounds! Can you make your voice:

• go down a slide (wheeee!)

• bounce like a ball (boing, boing)

• Buzz like a bee (zzzzzzz)

• Sound disappointed (ohh)

What other sounds can you make with your voice? Can your parent or sibling guess where your sound comes from? Take turns playing the voice sound game - you can give each other suggestions or guess what the voice sound is!
